100 Thieves have just announced that they will be signing Tommey as their first ever Warzone professional player. Here is their announcement:
This news does not come as a big surprise after their recent announcement that they are returning to the COD League as the LA Thieves. Alongside their return announcement, they mentioned that they will also be entering other Call of Duty titles, namely Warzone and Cod mobile.
100 Thieves signing Tommey as their first Warzone player – Who is Tommey?
28-year old Thomas “Tommey” Trewren has been playing Call of Duty professionally since 2017, and has been on multiple Cod teams. Some being: Fnatic, Splyce, Team Reciprocity, and most recently, Dallas Empire as a substitute.
Since then, he took his free time, and spent it on Call of Duty’s battle royale game mode, Warzone. In fact, with Tommey’s continuous improvement, he and three others (Almxnd, ChrisMorales59, mbridges) managed to win the Twitch Rivals FaZe Face-off.
Why is this big news?
With Call of Duty’s incoming patch, Warzone will be growing exponentially due to the custom lobbies which will be implemented very soon. This is a sign from the developers, that the game is far from dead, and that they’re trying to build an esports scene around it.
We will definitely be seeing more signings with regards to 100 Thieves, as well as for all the other professional Warzone players, as the game is only in its infancy, and will surely be growing rapidly.
