What’s interesting is that both of these players formed part of the most recent version of the Cloud9 CS:GO lineup. Unfortunately that squad only lasted a couple of months, and it was completely disbanded. Here’s a little bit more insight on who they are and their potential within Fnatic if the deal happens:
Alex “ALEX” McMeekin is a 25-year-old CS:GO player. He started it all in 2014 with webSPELL Gaming, and after a few years he started playing with a couple of French teams. This has helped him tremendously in his career as he got the opportunity to play with France’s best Team Vitality between 2018 and 2020. He was core for the team’s successful results, but in March of 2020 it was revealed that he was stepping down from the lineup. And that’s where Cloud9 stepped in.
On the other hand, William “mezii” Merriman is 22 years of age. Starting his career with Dog Gaming back in 2017, and slowly climbing up the ranks in the UK CS:GO scene. Some teams he played for in the past: London Esports, Vexed Gaming, and GamerLegion.
Fnatic – Moving Forward
Obviously Fnatic are in desperate need for a solid in-game leader, and a talented up and coming fragger. Due to their recent roster changes involving Golden and JW, this is a perfect opportunity for both of these individuals to prove their worth. It’s going to be interesting to see them integrate their own style of CS, and we look forward to their upcoming matches.
