During yesterday’s VCT Challengers 2 Qualifier, Alliance managed to outplay, and upset Team Liquid. This is how they did it:
Alliance upset Team Liquid – What happened?
These 2 matched up in the Round of 16, where Team Liquid had just beaten Megakich, and Alliance, Cream Real Betis.
First map was Haven, which the Liquid boys won with a significant amount (13-7). Then came Icebox, which was an absolute dominant game by Alliance, finishing the match with a 13-1 scoreline. After that strong performance, Alliance kept the momentum and went on to win the 3rd and final map of the series, to advance to the next stage.

With this unfortunate loss, Team Liquid will be missing out on the top 8 spot in the VCT Challengers 2 event. On the other hand, this is a great victory for Alliance, especially because they have just recently announced their roster. Getting success this early is rare, but surely not impossible.
What’s next?
Team Alliance took on Dfuse team today, and got a clean 2-0 win. With this victory, Alliance have progressed to the main event, alongside Wave Esports, FPX, NiP and OG. The VCT Challengers 2 main event is commencing on the 20th of February, so be sure to join in and watch the action!
