Indeed, heading into the BLAST Spring Finals event, Na’Vi were not the favourites. Accordingly, considering the stand-in player they had, the odds were against them. However, as you’ll find out in the BLAST Spring Finals 2022 recap below, they managed to take the win!
BLAST Spring Finals 2022 Recap – Expected but Unexpected
Furthermore, favourites included Team Vitality and FaZe Clan. Regardless, the Ukranian squad showed some incredible resilience. Having signed Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev from MAD Lions to stand-in for Kirill “Boombl4″ Mikhaylov, hopes were curious.
So much so, the team didn’t start very strong at the Group Stage. Within Group B, Natus Vincere managed a 1-1 record to place third, earning a Quarterfinals seed.
Here, they managed to take down the favourites of the event, FaZe Clan, in a 2-0 fashion.
Accordingly, they then went on to OG and managed to take the down in an exciting 2-1 record.
And then, it’s the Grand Finals which were truly spectacular. Moreover, the match between Team Vitality and Na’Vi is one we saw several times in 2021, and it’s one that Na’Vi walked away with time and time again.
Although Team Vitality had high hopes, Natus Vincere were determined to win their first trophy of 2022.
What’s curious now is – what will the Ukranian team do with the roster? Will the stand-in stay on the active roster? Will “electroNic” remain the in-game leader?
