Over the past weekend, the CoD community enjoyed a mid-season event. Indeed, with no stakes apart from a prize, amateur and and professional teams went at it via the Call of Duty League Pro-Am Classic. Read on as we recap the event, where NYSL managed to walk away champions!
Call of Duty League Pro-Am – Surprise Surprise
Overall, the event had great intentions, involving four of the best amateur teams. However, while no amateur teams made it into the Playoffs Stage, NYSL sure did.
Off of the back of multiple rosters, New York Sublines had a lot to prove this event. Going almost flawless in the Group Stage, NYSL would then dominate the bracket. Here they would take down Paris Legion and Toronto Ultra – earning a spot in the Grand Final.
Competing against Los Angeles Thieves, NYSL managed to win it in 4 maps and prove themselves as a top contender moving forward.
Despite the win, NYSL have taken time to find their footing. Currently 11th in the standings (out of 12), they’re 30 points down from the top 8 – only 8 teams will make it to Champs this year.
Let’s see if they’ll manage to make the cut in time, taking Stage 3 as an opportunity to earn further points.
