The 2020 Call of Duty League Championship Will Be Held Online

Absolutely heartbreaking news for the competitive Call of Duty community these past days as Activision has announced that the largest event in the history of the competitive franchise will be held online instead of the supposed LAN format. Read on to learn more about the $4.6 million event.

The entire community was hoping that this wouldn’t be the case, due to the unreliability of internet connections compared to LAN. Also, with the rumours of potential cheating in the Call of Duty League through controller modifications, many have grown concerned.

To counter this, a ‘universal camera setup’ looks to be implemented as of July 10th, for the New York Home Series, where officials will be able to confirm whether professionals are abusing any potential advantages with views on all gaming apparatus.

In addition, two more servers have been created to add up to 5, compared to the former 3, to allow for a more balanced connection for everybody. Besides this, a strong focus has been placed on fighting off all potential technical difficulties.

To take place sometime in August, teams finally know that they need to prepare for online and online only. No more ‘we’ll do better on LAN’ excuses will be heard anytime soon.

Call of Duty League Seattle Home Series Online Recap – Huntsmen Back On Top

Another weekend of competitive Call of Duty has finally come to an end and the Chicago Huntsmen are the new champions once again. The leaderboard continues to be shuffled as we head into the latter half of the season. Read on as we recap the Call of Duty League Seattle Home Series 2020 below!

It may be called the Seattle Home Series, but Seattle was in no position to defend their land, or servers in this case. Our predictions, for the most part, did, in fact, come true with the exceptions of the London Royal Ravens and the Chicago Huntsmen.

You’d think that barely a week after making a swap that these teams would show some potential but not really captivate on anything due to a lack of preparation. That’s hardly what happened, as both teams managed to make it to the Grand Final in spectacular fashion.

Right off the rip, we’ll tackle the upsets. Los Angeles Guerillas finally taking down Seattle was the last straw which broke the Surge’s back – their roster is believed to be done now. Then there’s Minnesota bombing out of groups once again following their last performance while both New York and OGLA keep up the heat. London, however, was the biggest shock this weekend as nobody saw them leaving Groups at all.

Below we have the Finals matches and their outcomes:

Semifinals

  • London Royal Ravens vs OGLA (3-2)
  • Chicago Huntsmen vs New York Subliners (3-1)

Finals

  • London Royal Ravens vs Chicago Huntsmen (1-3)

Despite the troubled online connection for OGLA, they managed to put up a fantastic fight. Meanwhile, the Subliners couldn’t thwart the hunger from the Huntsmen. The two teams in the grand finals had just made roster changes: this was insane. Sadly, everyone knew this would be going the way of Huntsmen and just like that, they join Dallas and FaZe as two-time winners in the league.

Apart from the main event, the Warzone Weekend had a successful debut as Paris Legion were our very first victors!

Call of Duty League Seattle Online Home Series 2020 Preview!

The Call of Duty League is back again for this weekend from the 22-24th May, as the competitive community gathers itself for the Call of Duty League Seattle Home Series Online 2020. $100,000 are on the line as always as we enter the latter half of the season and points are becoming even more valuable. Read on as we preview this CDL Seattle Home Series Online week’s event!

The following eight teams have been split into Group A and B as shown below:

Group A

  • London Royal Ravens
  • Los Angeles Guerillas

Group B

  • Paris Legion
  • Chicago Huntsmen
  • Minnesota Rokkr
  • OpTic Gaming LA

There’s a tonne to discuss here. First of all, FaZe Atlanta, the leaders of the Call of Duty League, won’t be attending this weekend. Suddenly, it’s everyone’s game.

Over in Group B, the Chicago Huntsmen are looking weaker than ever due to their recent roster swap by bringing in ‘Prestinni’ from the Florida Mutineers instead of ‘Gunless’ – they haven’t had time to practice and not many expect them to take the Seattle Home Series this weekend. This is where the Minnesota Rokkr look to compensate for their performance last event with a rematch against OGLA. Paris Legion isn’t looking too strong either and due to this, Group B is looking rather foggy.

Meanwhile, in Group A, further roster changes may haunt the teams of Seattle Surge and London Royal Ravens. Could this be the weekend that Los Angeles Guerillas actually win reach the semifinals? Well, if they do, New York will be sure to join them and make a run at this tournament. Seattle Surge just might follow up Florida’s performance in not being able to defend their own Home Series.

Personally, the favourites for this event look to be between the New York Subliners and the Chicago Huntsmen. Minnesota are still hunting for that first event, but after last weekend, doubts have been flooding the roster due to bombing out.

Another point for this weekend is the Warzone Weekend event taking place on Sunday, where the twelve organizations will be competing in a private lobby. This could result in awesome viewership for the event due to the popularity of Warzone.

ESL One Birmingham Online Teams Confirmed and Chicago Huntsmen Sign Prestinni!

We’ve got two very different topics below in this short dive into the current state of esports: Call of Duty roster moves and ESL One Birmingham Online news coming right at you.

Our first topic is terrifically exciting for all of the competitive Call of Duty enthusiasts out there as the first-ever transfer in the Call of Duty League just took place and looks to be one of the most promising moves of the year. The Chicago Huntsmen have just acquired the former world champion of Prestinni from the substitute bench of the Florida Mutineers, in doing so, reuniting the twins and potentially fixing the Huntsmen’s problems as a team. Having the incredible objective sub player in Prestinni opens this roster’s ceiling higher than ever before, though it might be too little, too late for the incoming weekend of the CDL Seattle Online Home Series.

Meanwhile, nobody is too sure whether Gunless will be trading to Mutineers or not.

Quickly moving on to our second topic, Dota 2 is preparing to celebrate one of the largest online events to take place since the world’s changed through the ESL One Birmingham Online. While the date and exact schedule are still to be announced, ESL has happily confirmed the list of all 30 teams that will be at the event, while 8 more spots remain for qualifiers – teams coming from Europe/CIS, China, North/South America and Southeast Asia. The lengthy list is complete below as tweeted by ESL Dota 2 below:

As the final spots are concluded through the final stages of the qualifiers, the Dota 2 community eagerly awaits one of the top events of the year, especially since The International has been indefinitely postponed. We’ll be keeping track of the event and any of the details to be released such as schedule and prize pool. The prize is expected to be upwards of $200,000 for sure. All we know for now is that it’s coming soon and it’s going to be epic.
