Over in the Call of Duty League, we’re still sitting in the off-season. Indeed, many teams are reforming and overall, we’re seeing a new emphasis on coaches. Accordingly, this is true for the New York Subliners. Read on as we talk about the new signing – New York Subliners DREAL!
New York Subliners DREAL – What They Need?
So, let’s ask the question – who is Ehsan “DREAL” Jawed? Aged 26, the Englishman is a retired CoD professional who has made the switch to coaching a while back.
Accordingly, the youngster has coached multiple teams in the path, with the following record:
Elevate (2019)
TrainHard Esport (2020)
Team Singularity (2020)
Passion (2021)
Elevate (2021)
New York Subliners (2021)
As you can see from the coach’s record, this is the biggest team the coach has ever been involved with. Indeed, the organization is buzzed with this new announcement, the community looks forward to see what the organization can do with a performance coach.
After last season, we’re looking forward to seeing how New York Subliners will bring it. Indeed, with the Subliners improving their coaching staff, they could reap the rewards in the upcoming season.
Over the past few weeks, CoD Rostermania has been rather quiet. Accordingly, there’s been a pattern of older veterans retiring after a difficult season. Indeed, the likes of Apathy Retires from CoD isn’t a groundbreaking revelation. Read on as we discuss this piece of news!
Apathy Retires from CoD – A Decorated Career
All of this has been made public thanks to a personal statement from the player over on his social media, Twitter:
As some of you may know there has been some speculation going around about my retirement. This isn’t how I wanted all of this to end, I always told myself I wanted that 3rd ring before I retired.
Sometimes in life things don’t go the way you want it and this is one of those times. I did try to get on a pro team and wanted to keep competing but there were no opportunities or offers. I completely understand why, just felt like I had gas in the tank still.
With all that said, I am officially retiring from Professional Call of Duty. I know I will miss competing and everything it brings. But its time to move on to the next thing! Something I’ve always loved was creating content, I did a lot of it through out my career.
Historically, the player is one of nine to earn 2 CoD Rings. However, ever since the Call of Duty League started, he’s found himself on the worst rosters in the League.
It’s been a tough season for Toronto Ultra this past year. Indeed, not due to losses, but a later season where they got close, but not close enough. Accordingly, as the second best team from this past year, we’ve been waiting for an update for next year. Read on to learn about the Toronto Ultra Roster 2022!
Toronto Ultra Roster 2022 – A Reasonable Decision
Heading into this season, Toronto Ultra had it rough. Following a poor first stage, they made a single change which converted the team into a new animal. Accordingly, here’s what they accomplished following the change:
Stage 2 Major – First Place
Stage 3 and 4 Major – Third Place
CDL 2021 Playoffs – Second Place
Accordingly, it’s not surprise that the team will be sticking together with the following roster:
Cammy “Cammy” McKilligan
Ben “Bance” Bance
Tobi “CleanX” Jonsson
Jamie “Insight” Craven
Anthony “Methodz” Zinni – Pending Approval
It’s a great roster to keep. Indeed, what made them so strong this past year is their commitment to having some of the best teamwork in league.
Heading into 2022 for CoD Vanguard, the team looks to have no issues with roles and talent.
Let’s see if they can keep their performance up this season. F
Indeed, CoD rostermania is at its highest point. Accordingly, with leaked rosters everywhere, we’re all waiting for confirmations. Bearing this in mind, we have news regarding the LA Thieves Roster announcement. Read on to learn more!
LA Thieves Roster Announcement – Keeping 2, Signing 2
As one of the more disappointing teams from last season, LA Thieves is a team that wants to win.
With this attitude in mind, a few changes needed to be made. So, headed into this year, the following players were dropped:
Cuyler “Huke” Garland
Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat
Carlos “Venom” Hernandez
Following these changes, the roster had an opening spot for a Submachine Gun player and an Assault Rifle player. The organization took to social media to announce the signing of two of the best free agents available in the market:
Kenny “Kenny” Williams
Zack “Drazah” Jordan
Sam “Octane” Larew – former Seattle Surge
Dylan “Envoy” Hannon – former OpTic Chicago
First things first, Sam “Octane” Larew is an obvious signing here. Following his history with the organization in BO4, winning two championships, he’s back home.
However, the signing of Envoy is where the true excitement lies. Accordingly, as one of the top subs in the game, he’ll be a fantastic addition to this roster.
Indeed, with September 5th being the official date for teams to be able to sign new players, rostermania is taking a new turn. Accordingly, the community is patiently awaiting official reveals. Read on as we dive into the first one – the official Los Angeles Guerrillas Roster for next year!
Los Angeles Guerrillas Roster – Learning From Two Years
There’s no need to be discreet – the rosters for the past two years for LAG have always been unimpressive and underwhelming. Accordingly, the past two seasons have had them at the bottom of the leaderboards consistently.
However, that all looks to change with the following new roster announced on Twitter:
Obaid “Asim” Asim
Peirce “Gunless” Hillman
Cuyler “Huke” Garland
Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat
This roster has already impressed the community and we haven’t even seen them in action. Overall, it just makes perfect sense.
Starting with the likely leader, the world champion of “SlasheR” is an incredible pick-up here. Paired with one of the best flex players in the league with “Gunless” from Seattle Surge, they’ll do great here.
Over on the SMG side of things, both “Asim” and “Huke” have shown their potential this past season as very strong players.
Otherwise, apart from talent, this is a hungry team looking to prove themselves. All credit to LAG for pulling such a roster together – we doubt they’ll be a bottom team anymore.
Over the past few days, competitive Call of Duty has skyrocketed in terms of excitement. Indeed, this is all thanks to the incredible rostermania going on – massive moves all around. Accordingly, with so much going on, we’ll be taking the time to offer a CoD Rostermania Update – read on to dive right into it all!
CoD Rostermania Update – Smaller Teams Cleaning Up
For this type of article, we’ll be going team by team and discussing the changes made so far – note that not all teams have made a change at this point in time.
Seattle Surge – Letting Go Of Octane After 2 Seasons
Sam ‘Octane’ Larew
Pierce ‘Gunless’ Hillman
Preston ‘Prestinni‘ Sanderson
Nicholas ‘Nicholas’ DiCostanzo
Daniel ‘Loony’ Loza – Substitute
Joey ‘Nubzy’ DiGiacomo – Coach
We’ll start with some of the more predictable changes, taking place with some of the lower teams.
Finally after two years, the Seattle Surge is letting go of their entire roster. Following two years at the bottom of the leaderboard and the contract of Sam ‘Octane’ Larew expiring, the team will need to rebuild.
Accordingly, hopefully they’ve learned their lesson – teams aren’t made on paper but in peron.
Paris Legion – Starting From Scratch……Again
Donovan ‘Temp’ Laroda
Matthew ‘Skrapz’ Marshall
Ulysses ‘AquA’ Silva
Alex ‘Zaptius’ Bonila
Meanwhile, we have a similar story from Paris Legion. However, the Legion never appeared to be shooting for the stars, especially since it was public knowledge that they were offering the lowest salaries in the league.
Anyhow, although showing potential all year, the Legion is cleaning up shop. Accordingly, there are also rumours that Legion may be trying to sell its franchise spot this offseason.
London Royal Ravens – Building Around Afro
Sean ‘Seany’ O’Connor
Zach ‘Zed’ Denyer
Paul ‘PaulEhx’ Avila
Alex ‘Alexx’ Carpenter
‘SHANE’ – Coach
Although managing to place 4th at CoD Champs last year, the team simply couldn’t put it together this year.
For CoD Cold War, the team was haunted by problems such as ‘Zer0′ not obtaining a VISA and ‘Alexx’ stepping away for personal reasons. This combined with multiple, perhaps too many, roster changes left this team unable to catch up to everyone else.
Anyway, the team now looks forward to build around the youngster of ‘Afro‘ which is a respectable decision.
New York Subliners – Still a Mystery
Conor ‘Diamondcon’ Johst
John ‘Revan’ Boble – Coach
Across the year, the New York Subliners have enjoyed an incredible storyline of resilience. Indeed, bouncing back from a truly rough start to the year for multiple reasons – ‘Zoomaa’ retiring and ‘Hydraa’ not obtaining a VISA.
Still, the team put it together – later in the year growing painfully close to success but never reaching it.
Anyways, the organization has publically let go of substitute player ‘Diamondcon’ who helped the team greatly, while mysteriously letting go of John ‘Revan’ Boble.
We’re curious to hear more from the New York Subliners.
Toronto Ultra – Letting Go Of Methodz
Anthony ‘Methodz’ Zinni
Although a dominant force from Stage 2 onwards, Toronto Ultra suffered a truly poor start before the Stage 2 Major.
This change came about following the team benching their main AR ‘Methodz’. Being on the bench since then, it’s no surprise that the player is now a free agent in the offseason.
Otherwise, we’re quite confident that Toronto Ultra will be one of the few teams sticking together for the next season.
Los Angeles Guerillas – Cleaning the Slate Once Again
Adam ‘Assault’ Garcia
Bryan ‘Apathy’ Zhelyazkov
Justin ‘SiLLY’ Fargo-Palmer
Billy ‘MentaL’ Putnam
Running it back to the bottom of the leaderboard, the Los Angeles Guerillas once again offered up a poor season.
Although offering some signs of life up to Stage 2, everything came crashing down when the team refused to build around ‘Vivid’ – a stellar player who simply benched himself and signed to another team.
After this, the team never found its footing, especially when betting on a rookie such as ‘MentaL’. Accordingly, it’s no surprise that the entire team is now in free agency.
CoD Rostermania Update – Discussing the Rumoured OpTic and Dallas Merger
Now, we can finally discuss the big news. As two of the biggest organizations in the Call of Duty League, the community was absolutely stunned by the roster changes coming from OpTic Chicago and Dallas Empire.
OpTic Chicago – Fans Absolutely Shocked
Starting with OpTic Chicago, the first news is the retirement of one of the greatest competitive CoD players of all time – Matthew ‘FormaL’ Piper.
Having been on the team since Advanced Warfare, the legendary player is in the leaderboard for the most wins. He’ll be sorely missed, confessing that he’s not up to the task anymore.
Following this first shock, the community was then surprised by the letting go of Dylan ‘Envoy’ Hannon. Although rumoured to be the successor to Seth ‘Scump’ Abner, they’ve let go of the young prodigy – however, it’s a lot clearer as to why.
Dallas Empire – Dropping Crimsix and Vivid
Moving on to Dallas Empire, everyone is equally surprsied here. Out of the blue, Ian ‘Crimsix’ Porter was dropped – the most winningest player in the history of CoD together with the young phenomenal sub player in Reece ‘Vivid’ Drost.
The Merge – CoD Rostermania
Suddenly, with both changes aligned, it all started to make sense. A prominent leaker in the scene, Cory ‘CRONE’ Davis announced that Dallas Empire is looking to acquire OpTic Gaming – including its CDL spot.
Inded, with owner ‘H3CZ’ wanting to break away from NRG since May of this year, Barring the specifics, it seems that financically this all makes sense with both teams dropping two players. Accordingly, this potential new team could look like this:
Anthony ‘Shotzzy’ Cuevas-Castro
Indervir ‘iLLeY’ Dhaliwal
Seth ‘Scump’ Abner
Brandon ‘Dashy’ Otell
With details still being finalized, we can’t wait to learn more about this huge move.
An Available CDL Spot
With a merge, this means a new spot is open for an organization to invest into the league. Within the community, many have the likes of Cloud9 juming in following leaks however it remains a distant rumour.
We hope you enjoyed the rostermania so far – we’re certain there’s a lot more on the way.
In search of success, hard decisions need to be made. Accordingly, that seems to be the approach for the Seattle Surge. Indeed, rostermania for competitive Call of Duty has only just begun, and it starts off with this – Seattle Surge Drops Roster!
Seattle Surge Drops Roster – Finally Time to Shine?
Over the past two years, the franchised team of Seattle Surge have been somewhat of a joke in the community. Indeed, they’ve managed to place in the bottom two for two separate years with two different rosters.
Bearing this in mind, it’s no surprise that the organization has let go of the entire player roster and coach too. Everything was made public in the following tweet:
Accordingly, they’re now all free agents.
Bearing in mind their poor seasons, do any of the players have a chance of finding a home ahead of the CoD Vanguard season?
Mainly, the community has the likes of ‘Octane’ and ‘Gunless’ as guaranteed spots next year due to their individual performances and history in the competitive CoD community.
Otherwise, ‘Prestinni’ is also a very talented aggressive sub-player who should find a home.
Otherwise, ‘Loony’ has already announced his transition to coaching while ‘Classic’ remains a question mark.
They’ve finally done it. Indeed, after an intense season, CoD Champs 2021 ended the action with a bang this past weekend. Sealing themselves in the history books, Atlanta FaZe are your CoD World Champions! Read on for some information!
CoD Champs 2021 Recap – A Dominant Performance From FaZe
Naturally, we’ll focus on the path Atlanta took to earn this win.
Accordingly, following three event wins all year, they earned a first seed into the $2.5 million event.
Following an upset at Stage 5, FaZe came prepared. Bearing this in mind, they didn’t lose a map until the Grand Final against Toronto Ultra.
Dismissing Dallas and New York in 3-0 sweeps, they looked like the favourite here.
Although favourites, they didn’t win too easily. No, the Grand Final was an epic battle between Europe and North America, going back and forth until the final few maps.
Here, thanks to efforts from the FaZe roster – Simp, Cellium, Arcitys and aBeZy managed to walk away champions.
What does this mean? Well, the idea of on everyone’s mind is that this roster has cemented itself as a dynasty.
Following two years of consistency, a win at Champs is all they needed to cement this.
We’re curious to see how the organization carries their efforts into Call of Duty Vanguard.
After a year of incredible competition, the 2021 season of the Call of Duty League is finally drawing to a close. Bringing the fans, storylines and best players in the world, this $2,500,000 event is one you don’t want to miss. Read on to learn How to Watch the CDL Championship 2021!

Indeed, back then the global situation remained unsafe and all was played online. However, this time around the action will be held in Los Angeles at the Galen Center.
Another change to this $2,500,000 event is the fact that not all the teams have been invited.
Although the entire league qualified last season, only the top 8 franchised squads will be present as outlined earlier in the season.
Speaking of which, the following are the 8 best competitive Call of Duty teams in the world:
Atlanta FaZe – 525

In terms of predictions, we’ll be focusing on the competitors into several specific tiers as named below.
Favourites – Winner Circle
Minnesota Rokkr
Toronto Ultra
Atlanta FaZe
Coincidentally, all three favourites are the teams that have walked away with event wins this year.
Starting with the favourite in terms of recent performance, Rokkr currently have the momentum following their incredible victory at the Stage 5 Major.
Historically in competitive CoD, the winner of the event before Champs always seems to have the edge.
However, that’s not to count out Atlanta FaZe. Indeed, dominating the entire year with multiple event wins, they’ve been the favourite multiple times this year.
However, the only thing that matters is Champs – will they fail when it matters most like last year?
Then there’s Toronto Ultra. Another dominant machine since they brought on rookie “Insight” onto the team, they’ve suffered a bit of heartbreak at the last two events since their epic win.
However, with the best teamwork in the league, they remain a favourite.
Going with any of these three is a great idea when picking a winner.
Potential Deep Runs and Dark Horses
Deep Runs – OpTic Chicago, Dallas Empire
Dark Horses – New York Subliners, Los Angeles Thieves
This is certainly not the first time that the words ‘cheaters’ and ‘Warzone’ are being combined. Indeed, an ongoing problem which is constantly fluctuating is becoming more and more problematic. In this episode of State of the Community, we’ll be diving into how may be affecting the competitive side of things with Warzone Esports!
Social Media Personalities Strike Out – For Good?
This featured article is behind an incredible wave of responses from the YouTube community. Indeed, many popular content creators are taking a step away from the title. For example, take the following video from Jack “CouRage” Dunlop as an example:
And no, he’s not alone. Other content creators such as Nick “NickMercs” Kolcheff are also taking a step back and this looks to be the trend. Among a few reasons, such as a lack of streamer support, the current plaque of cheaters and hackers have pushed many over the edge to venture out to other titles such as Apex Legends.
This lack of patience is definitely justified following the turbulence of allowing cross-play and the lack of support from Activision-Blizzard.
With the cause out of the way, let’s jump into the possible effect.
Warzone Esports And Cheaters – Reducing Popularity, Reducing Attention
In terms of warzone esports, there isn’t any official framework right now. However, Activision is instead hosting events such as the World Series of Warzone a few months ago which were incredible successes in their own right.
However, there are a few ways in which cheaters can potentially effect the future of warzone esports:
Reason #1 – a lack of ranked play forces competitors and others into public matches as their main form of practice. Bearing this in mind, cheaters make practice harder and less attractive. As a result, this pulls away competitors from investing their time.
Reason #2 – taking a hit on streamers also reduces the attention the title gets on platforms such as Twitch. Accordingly, for the past few months Warzone has dominated streaming resulting in more people playing and accordingly, more people diving into the competitive side. However, if less people are playing, less people are interested in competitive experiences.
Reason #3 – a lack of competitive integrity. Indeed, with a lack of anti-cheat software, the idea of cheaters can severely disrupt Warzone Esports events in the future, especially if they aren’t caught and dealt with immediately. Such cheating can make hosting competitive events simply impossible.
In addition, the fact that Activision are taking so long to respond does not help their case right now. However, there may also be more to it.
Activision Blizzard – Terrible Timing Right Now
Our concerns stem from the fact that earlier this year, Activision-Blizzard announced a big push towards esports for competitive Warzone thanks to the mentioned World of Warzone series. Offering a taste for the future, it got everybody excited.
Now, back on topic, Activision Blizzard are currently quite underfire in the esports industry. For those unaware, Activision Blizzard are currently struggling through an internal lawsuit involving harassment.
As a result of this, establishments such as the Overwatch League have lost massive sponsors and in addition, the company has simply been silent.
Bearing this in mind, the timing is very poor together with the outrage from the Warzone community. While we’re hopeful that everything can be patched up and the future of Warzone Esports brightened up, it will also likely take some time.
For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what’s next for Warzone Esports. Due to how early and young the title is with regards to esports, Activision Blizzard need to take care of it in order to grow.
