Specifically, the numbers have finally come through. Last year, the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 earned the highest peak viewership of all time for competitive CS:GO.

Following this up, PGL Antwerp has earned a second place in the leaderboard, right beneath the Stockholm event. Take a look at the viewership numbers below:

  • PGL Major Stockholm 2021 – Peak Viewers (2,748, 434) and Average Viewers (586,218)
  • PGL Major Antwerp 2022 – Peak Viewers (2,113,610) and Average Viewers (593,061)
  • ELEAGUE Major 2017 – Peak Viewers (1,331,781) and Average Viewers (592, 697)

Considering this is the return of CS:GO, with live events and Majors, these are awesome numbers to consider.

Indeed, after being a top esports for multiple years, CS:GO esports continues to grow and improve in viewership and structure. Yearly, new events are being organized, by third parties such as BLAST, PGL and ESL, and more and more teams continue to become involved.

PGL Antwerp Major Recap – FaZe Clan Keep Winning

The return of competitive CS:GO has been incredible. Accordingly, with live crowds and multiple majors, this past weekend was an awesome showcase. Indeed, read on for your very own PGL Antwerp Major recap below!

Over the past year, the likes of FaZe Clan have won multiple events with their current roster. Heading into the events as favourites, while it definitely wasn’t easy, they’ve earned a Major win:

  • #1 – FaZe Clan
  • #2 – Natus Vincere
  • #3-4 – Team Spirit, ENCE

And no they were not the favourites throughout. Finishing fifth in the Legends Stage, they headed into the Champions Stage as a favourite, but under the radar.

Here, in the Single Elimination Champions Stage, they took down the following teams:

  • FaZe Clan vs Ninjas in Pyjamas (2-1)
  • Team Spirit vs FaZe Clan (0-2)

And just like that, they had earned a spot in the Grand Finals.

Here they would play, the likes of the other favourite for the event in the form of Natus Vincere. Accordingly, although being close, FaZe Clan managed to take down Na’Vi in a 2-0 fashion.

Bearing this in mind, this has cemented the roster as the very best of 2022 – let’s see how far they can carry this!

To place last, Team Liquid didn’t win a single match at the largest event of the year.

Following this, sources are spreading the news that the likes of Richard “shox” Papillon is likely to leave the roster. Indeed, considering the elimination at the hands of his former team, this is likely a knee-jerk reaction.

For those unaware, here’s what the roster looks like:

While LoL is booming with MSI, competitive CS:GO is enjoying the PGL Antwerp Major 2022. Accordingly, with $1,000,000 on the line for the top 24 teams in the world, the show is still live. Read on for a concise event update below!

PGL Antwerp Major 2022 Update – Final Stage Incoming

As of today, we’re on the verge of the conclusion of the second stage of competition. Specifically, the final day of the Legends Stage will take place on May 17th. From here, only the top 8 will progress to compete in the Champions Stage.

So far, from the first stage of competition, the following teams have been eliminated:

  • Bad News Eagles
  • Team Liquid
  • forZe
  • Astralis
  • MIBR
  • Complexity Gaming
  • Eternal Fire
  • IHC Esports
  • 9z Team

Moving forward, the Champions Stage will run from May 19th to May 22nd. Taking place through a single elimination bracket, all matches will be BO3 and finally, we’ll have our international Major champions to behold.

As of right now, favourites include Natus Vincere and Team Spirit, who have both remained flawless in the Legends Stage. Also, FaZe Clan look poised to possibly win another event this year.

Back in 2021, the likes of Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen, retired from CS:GO. However, not leaving as a low-tier player, he left while on the top organization in Finland – ENCE.

Quickly joining Team Liquid afterwards, the youngster has been a super player for the roster. Indeed, helping the team achieve much, he’s an essential part of the team. However, recent developments have revealed the player’s plans.

According to a recent Twitch stream by the player, he confessed to estimating a return to competitive CS:GO. Namely, after VALORANT Champions this year, he will look to make a decision.

Should he leave as planned, Team Liquid will need to find a new player instead of him – which will certainly not be easy. However, for now, he remains on one of the best teams in Europe – let’s see what he can accomplish first!

However, heading into the PGL Antwerp, the team failed to place high enough at the Europe RMR event. Specifically, placing 9-11th has seen the team not make it to the largest event of the year.

And hence, we have a roster change. Indeed, the likes of Valdemar “valde” Vangsa has parted ways with the organization.

Being around since 2019, that leaves the following roster:

Indeed, coming this June, the event looks to be a closed off offline LAN event with 8 invited teams. Running from the 8th June to 11th June, there’s a lot to look forward to.

With regards to competitors, the following teams have been announced:

  • Evil Geniuses
  • Heroic
  • Imperial Esports
  • MIBR

Accordingly, that only leaves two more teams to be revealed!

However, it’s definitely worth noting that perhaps not every team can make it considering the tight international schedule.

Accordingly, missing out on the PGL Antewerp Major was very disappointing for Evil Geniuses. Despite a revamped roster back in January, the team failed to make enough noise to qualify for the Major event.

Bearing this in mind, change was definitely on the board. However, none of the players have been changed.

Specifically, their former coach, Damien “maLeK” Marcel has now parted ways with the organization following the result. Indeed, the following players will be looking for a new coach:

Out of the blue, fans of competitive CS:GO suddenly have another series of events to look forward to! Accordingly, the announcement of the CS:GO Champions of Champions Circuit has everyone excited – read on to learn why.

Involving a coalition of international partners for circuit, it looks to involve multiple events across multiple regions, concluding with one epic event.

With GRID as the proprietary organizer, backed up by multiple partners, there’s a lot to look forward to, such as:

  • 44 online cups, 11 LAN finals, global final
  • $3.4 million prize pool total
  • Date: kicks off June 2022

Essentially, this is the second season of the ongoing Champions of Champions circuit, though turning things up a notch.

Boasting to be the ‘largest open CS:GO tour in the world’, this is certain something to look forward to over the next two years.

As you can expect, it will build gradually. Starting with the national leagues, we’ll move on to continental leagues to end with international LAN competition.

Since April, the TYLOO CS:GO Roster 2022 hasn’t had a head coach. Indeed, as an essential component of CS:GO, they’ve been looking for one since. Accordingly, we finally have news of their most recent signing – a new head coach!

For those unaware, TYLOO is known to be one of the best Chinese CS:GO organizations in CS:GO. So much so, it’s a little surprising to see they’ve signed a head coach from the CIS region. Specifically, the likes of Nestor “LETN1″ Tanic will be coaching the roster:

Still a relatively young coach, with not much experience, the coach is a former player with a strong history of placing well in Europe.
