B8 Dota 2 Roster – Releasing All But One

The B8 esports organizations was founded in 2020 by a former The International champion. However, unlike in 2011, the roster was finding no success whatever and hasn’t yet. Accordingly, read on for a full update on the B8 Dota 2 roster.

As a reminder, the following was the founding roster earlier this year:

  • Andrey “Ghostik” Kadyk
  • Rinat “KingR” Rinat Abdullin
  • Alexandr “pio65” Zalivako
  • Nikola “LeBronDota” Popovic
  • Danil “Dendi” Ishutin

Indeed, as of last week, the players of “pio65” and “LeBronDota” had already parted with the roster. A new update has the “KingR” and “Ghostik” joining them in this regard. Hence, only the founder himself remains from the founding roster.

Naturally, the B8 Dota 2 Roster desperately needed a change as it has found barely any success. Since formation, the only notable achievement is a third place finish at BEYOND EPIC: EU/CIS Qualifier.

So – how does the roster look now?

The founder of Danil “Dendi” Ishutin has surrounded himself with new faces as follows:

  • Arets “Crystallis” Remco
  • Danil “Dendi” Ishutin
  • Oleg “LastHero” Demidovich
  • Enis “5up” Elfki
  • Dmitriy “Fishman” Polishchuk

Predictions for the new roster? Honestly, it would be difficult to do worse than the previous roster. Surrounding himself with young, Tier 2-3 talent might be what “Dendi” needs.

Fnatic Dota 2 Signs Raven – Dominance Imminent?

Firstly, the word “dominant” is often used to describe the Fnatic Dota 2 roster. Accordingly, the roster is a staple giant within Southeast Asia. Moreover, a roster swap is horrifying the community – Raven is signing.

To clarify, here’s a list of accomplishments the roster has already enjoyed:

  • 1st – World E-Sports Legendary League
  • 1st – Dota Summit 12
  • 3rd – DreamLeague Season 11
  • 13-16th The International 2019

Evidently, between the accomplishments, the failure at TI9 sticks out. Arriving from GeekFam, Marc “Raven” Fausto looks to be the remedy. As announced through their press release, 23Savage” is departing.

Within the region, “Raven” is constantly setting the bar. Actually rejoining Fnatic from GeekFam, the team manager had the following to say:

In our pursuit to build a Southeast Asian super team and continue dominating the region, I welcome for the second time, SEA’s most promising carry into our roster.

He will bring a new dimension to the team and add some firepower to our already stacked roster.

Eric Khor – Fnatic Dota 2 Team Manager

Indeed, it clear that Fnatic has huge goals. This roster is now a stronger contender for international competition:

  • Marc “Raven” Fausto
  • Kam “Moon” Seng
  • Daryl “iceiceice” Xiang
  • Djardel “DJ” Mampusti
  • Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong

Professional Dota 2 player Forev parts ways with T1

T1 have announced that they will be parting ways with their offlaner, Lee “Forev” Sang-don. Here is their statement:

What led to this decision?

The decision to part ways with Forev was definitely taken in line with their recent results in the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League. T1 placed 7th during the Round Robin stage, which meant that it was not a good result. However they managed to climb back up during the playoffs stage, up until the 3rd round of the lower bracket, where they lost 2-1 to GeekFam. This loss meant that they had achieved a 4th place during the league, which was certainly not a good result for the T1 organization.

Who will be his replacement?

T1 have not hinted anything with regards as to who could be a replacement, however rumor has it that ex-Fnatic Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon will be T1’s newest pickup in the offlane role. We will just have to wait and see for a confirmation from T1, which should be arriving sometime soon!

The International 2020 Prize Pool Breaks $30 Million

Year after year, Dota 2′s staple event of The International pursues the task of setting new records. Every time, it manages to smash the prize pool record of the previous year. The International 2020 Prize Pool has already reached $30,000,000. At this rate, it could easily set a new record for the industry!

Excitingly, The International 2020’s prize pool looks to break last year’s $34.3 million. Accordingly, the following graph puts TI10’s progress as the highest ever in terms of prize pool so far:

Basically, for those unaware, The International prize pool is partly crowd-funded. To begin with, Valve puts down an initial deposit, $1,600,000 for this year. Secondly, a purchasable Battle Pass is available to players which majorly contributes to the expanding the prize pool.

However, although the usual is for the Battle Pass to be available for 100 days, things have changed. Sadly, Valve postponed the event indefinitely to sometime next year. Therefore, the Battle Pass may be offered for longer or contributions closed in the usual 100 days.

Regardless, The International 2020 Prize Pool looks to push the limits as always.

The International 10 Dota 2 Battle Pass

Yesterday, Valve released The International 10 Dota 2 battle pass. 25% of all sales will be going towards the prize poo and there are 3 different ways of how you can buy the Battle Pass:

On the 1st of May, Valve released a statement regarding the 10th Dota 2 TI, which revealed that they would be postponing the event until 2021 due to the current pandemic. Originally, it was to be held in Stockholm, Sweden between the 18th till the 23rd of August. Despite the event being postponed, Valve did not hesitate from releasing the Battle Pass.

Much like any other Battle Pass of any other game, The International 10 Dota 2 battle pass will consist of mainly cosmetic items which can be unlocked by progressing through the levels. If you’re not someone that likes to level up bit by bit, and you can spare a bit of cash, as listed above there are 2 other alternative ways of leveling up the Battle Pass, however it is certainly not cheap.

How much is the Prize Pool for the Dota 2 TI 10 right now?

At the time of writing the Prize Pool is at a total amount of $7,601,547, and it continues to increase rapidly, as more players are purchasing the Battle Pass. Last year, the total prize pool for The International was set at a very high number of $34,330,068, which is quite insane if you think about it. It is the largest prize pool ever for an esport, and there’s a very high chance that in 2021 it will break a new record.

If you would like to find out more information regarding the Battle Pass, kindly visit the official Dota 2 website which can be found here: https://www.dota2.com/international/battlepass/

ESL One Birmingham Online Teams Confirmed and Chicago Huntsmen Sign Prestinni!

We’ve got two very different topics below in this short dive into the current state of esports: Call of Duty roster moves and ESL One Birmingham Online news coming right at you.

Our first topic is terrifically exciting for all of the competitive Call of Duty enthusiasts out there as the first-ever transfer in the Call of Duty League just took place and looks to be one of the most promising moves of the year. The Chicago Huntsmen have just acquired the former world champion of Prestinni from the substitute bench of the Florida Mutineers, in doing so, reuniting the twins and potentially fixing the Huntsmen’s problems as a team. Having the incredible objective sub player in Prestinni opens this roster’s ceiling higher than ever before, though it might be too little, too late for the incoming weekend of the CDL Seattle Online Home Series.

Meanwhile, nobody is too sure whether Gunless will be trading to Mutineers or not.

Quickly moving on to our second topic, Dota 2 is preparing to celebrate one of the largest online events to take place since the world’s changed through the ESL One Birmingham Online. While the date and exact schedule are still to be announced, ESL has happily confirmed the list of all 30 teams that will be at the event, while 8 more spots remain for qualifiers – teams coming from Europe/CIS, China, North/South America and Southeast Asia. The lengthy list is complete below as tweeted by ESL Dota 2 below:

As the final spots are concluded through the final stages of the qualifiers, the Dota 2 community eagerly awaits one of the top events of the year, especially since The International has been indefinitely postponed. We’ll be keeping track of the event and any of the details to be released such as schedule and prize pool. The prize is expected to be upwards of $200,000 for sure. All we know for now is that it’s coming soon and it’s going to be epic.

Dota 2 team Newbee gets lifetime suspension for match fixing

The Dota 2 organization known as Newbee has received a lifetime suspension from all events hosted by the China Dota 2 Professional Association (CDA). The CDA conducted an investigation and monitoring of their recent matches and it was suspected that they were match fixing in the China Dota 2 Pro League S2 and DPL-CDA S1 events. Alongside the organizational ban, the members and players have also received a lifetime ban from events organized by the CDA. These members and players are: Xu “Moogy” Han Yin “Aq” Rui Wen “Wizard” Lipeng Yan “Waixi” Chao Zeng “Faith” Hongda Feng “Feng” Yiqing This news comes as a shock to many, as Faith was a legendary player on this roster, and many thought that he wouldn’t be capable of doing such things due to his reputation. The Newbee roster had a solid reputation through the years, some honorable mentions of wins at events: 1st place in the Dota2 Professional League Season 2 Top (2016) 1st place in the Perfect World Masters (2017) 1st place in ESL One Genting (2018)

We’ve covered a lot of match fixing reports on our website, and unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon. Hopefully with these harsh bans, lesser teams would be allured to resort to match fixing, as it has no place in esports and competitive play.
