Recording the statistics, here are the numbers behind the PGL Arlington Major:

  • Average Viewers – 305,286

Indeed, these are impressive numbers for competitive Dota 2. Accordingly, for context the event is the second highest peak viewership for a non-TI event.

How to Watch ESL One Malaysia 2022: teams, format, schedule, streams, predictions

Accordingly, right now the Dota 2 competitive scene is patiently waiting for The International. However, there’s still some post-season competition to enjoy before the final event. Bearing this in mind, ESL One Malaysia 2022 is right around the corner – read on to learn how to watch!

Indeed, hosted by ESL, this is the third time the organizer is being hosted in Genting Highlands in Malaysia. This is only the third time ESL is doing this, after having organized similar events back in 2017 and 2018.

Overall, we have some of the top teams in the world competing together with those who were either invited or qualified. Competing for $400,000 from 23rd to 28th April, the following are your 12 teams:

Format

For all teams involved, this is a great opportunity to practice for The International. Furthermore, the event has a similar format to the event, consisting of a Group Stage and Playoffs.

Firstly, the Group Stage will take place between 23rd and 25th August. Here, two groups of six teams will fight through a single round robin with BO2 matches. Let’s take a look at the groups below:

  • Group A: Alliance, Entity, Talon Esports, Team Aster, Team Secret, Thunder Awaken
  • Group B: BOOM Esports, Fnatic, Nigma Galaxy, OG, Team Liquid, TSM

From here, seeds will go on to the Playoffs. Accordingly, here’s how seeding works:

  • Top 2 from each group – advanced to upper bracket of playoffs
  • 3-4th from each group – lower bracket of playoffs
  • 5-6th from each group – eliminated

The best teams will make it to the Playoffs, with competition running from August 26th to 28th. This final stage will involve a double elimination bracket. Accordingly, teams will fight through BO3 matches while Grand Final will be BO5.

For those unaware, a double elimination bracket means that teams in ther Upper Bracket will have to lose twice in order to be eliminated from the competition.

Accordingly, heading into The International, teams have been fighting for Dota Pro Circuit points. Bearing this in mind, Valve has maintained the standings of the Dota Pro Circuit.

Anyways, here are the 12 directly invited teams below:

However, unknown to the community there were changes from Valve. Indeed, apparently Outsiders were deducted penalty points for removing players mid-season.

Indeed, all Valve did was announce a list of invites for the event to take place later this year.

Naturally, if we rewind to last year, we saw the likes of The International 2021. Furthermore, back then an incredible storyline took place.

For those unaware, the likes of Team Spirit managed to stun the world by claiming the International title by beating PSG.LGD.

And just like that, Arlington Dota 2 Major saw the same storyline once again! Coming in as a favourite this time, here’s the epic run that Team Spirit went on:

  • Outsiders vs Team Spirit (1-2)
  • Team Spirit vs Team Aster (2-0)
  • PSG.LGD vs Team Spirit (2-0)

Once kicked down by PSG.LGD in the Upper Bracket Final, Team Spirit had to bounce back.

Jumping back with a 2-1 victory over Team Aster in the Lower Bracket Final, the stage was set for the Grand Final. Although PSG.LGD were the favourites, Team Spirit managed to rewrite the script and managed to win 3-1.

For those unaware, TI 2022 will take place from 15th October to 30th October. With $1,600,000 on the line, only the 20 best teams in the world are making it to the event.

Accordingly, while certain teams will qualify, others are invited through Dota Pro Circuit points.

Since yesterday, the following teams have earned seeds:

  • Team Spirit
  • Team Aster
  • Gaimin Gladiators

Concluding on the 14th August, PGL Arlington will offer the chance for two teams to be invited to the event.

However, apart from the 2 remaining DPC invites, there are also multiple qualifier events for the following regions:

  • North America
  • South America
  • Western Europe
  • Eastern Europe
  • China
  • Southeast Asia
  • LCQ x 2

Notably, the qualifiers will kick off in September. As you could expect, all teams will be doing their best to qualify.

With regards to the newly invited teams, it’s exciting to see Team Spirit return as they’ll hope to defend the throne this year.

How to Watch GAMERS GALAXY Invitational Series Thailand 2022: teams, format, schedule, streams, predictions

Overall, Southeast Asia may not be the top region for Dota 2, but it’s one which loves the title dearly. Accordingly, an upcoming event focuses exclusively on this developing region. Naturally, we’re referring to the GAMERS GALAXY Invitational Series Thailand – read on to learn How to Watch!

For those unaware, GAMERS GALAXY is an up-and-coming series of events hosted by Galaxy Racer. Indeed, earlier this year the organizer invited 10 teams to the Invitational Series Dubai. The event will run from 18-20th August, opening its doors for free to all viewers with a live crowd!

Similarly, this time around the organizers are taking the competitors to Thailand with the likes of $150,000 on the line. In additiion, the event is acting as a showcase of the region, as the organizers are exclusively inviting teams from the Southeast Asia region.

Indeed, heading to the Central Hatyai Venue, the following 8 teams have been invited:

  • Army Geniuses
  • Boom Rivalry
  • Execration
  • Fnatic
  • Polaris Esports
  • RSG
  • Team SMG
  • Talon Esports

With only prize to fight for, this event is a great opportunity to practice as teams plan to fight for TI qualification.

Format

Accordingly, so far the format has not been revealed. However, it is almost certain that the format will be similar to the Dubai 2022 event earlier this year.

Bearing this in mind, the event is planned to have two stages of competition. Firstly, we’ll have a round robin group stage to kick things off.

Naturally, the 8 teams will be split into two groups of 4. Within each group, teams will play one match against one another with BO1 matches. Accordingly, teams will compete to earn points in order to seed to the Playoffs stage as follow:

  • 1st-2nd of each group – advances to the Upper Bracket of Playoffs
  • 3rd-4th of each group – advances to the Play-In

Once in the Play-In, teams will fight in a single elimination competition. Here the winner of each match advances to the lower bracket of playoffs while the loser of each match is eliminated. Accordingly, matches will be BO3.

Heading into the Playoffs, there’ll be a final double elimination bracket where all matches will be BO3. Everything looks to conclude on August 20th with a BO3 grand final.

How do we know already? Well, this past weekend saw the Group Stage concluding for PGL Arlington. Specifically, the 17 teams were sorted into two groups – only the top 6 progressing to the Playoffs.

Accordingly, in Group B beascoast managed to edge out Natus Vincere. By making it to the Playoffs, together with an impressive season, they’ve earned enough Dota Pro Circuit points to qualify for TI!

PGL Arlington 2022 Dota 2 – Ana Standing In For Royal Never Give Up

Accordingly, although we’re excited for the PGL Arlington 2022 Dota 2 event, there have been some issues. Indeed, many teams have reported difficulties with getting their players to the venue. Bearing this in mind, Royal Never Give Up have their own announcement.

PGL Arlington 2022 Dota 2 – A Common Issue

Heading into this event, Royal Never Give Up are arguably the best team from the Chinese region. After placing 1st at the DPC CN Tour 3: Division 1, they look set to head to The International.

However, as we mentioned, the whole roster won’t be able to attend this Major. Specifically, the likes of Daniel “Ghost” Chan Kok Hong will not be able to make it.

Instead, the likes of Anathan “ana” Pham will be standing in – here’s how the roster looks like:

Despite the excitement heading into Dota 2 Arlington Major 2022, there have been some drawbacks. Accordingly, multiple teams have had difficulties getting their roster to the offline venues. Read on as we discuss everything we know so far!

So far, a total of 4 teams have been affected mainly due to an inability to obtain travel documents to travel to the United States.

Indeed, the following four teams have had the following problems with their rosters:

  • Fnatic – competing with a total of 3 substitutes yet to be announced. Specifically, only the likes of “Jabz” and “DJ” from the original team will attend the event.
  • Xtreme Gaming – the Chinese team has withdrawn from the event due to travel restrictions
  • Talon Esports – with “Q” not able to attend, “Xepher” will be standing in
  • Entity – here, “Pure” hasn’t managed to make it, so the likes of “SabeRLight-” will stand in

For those unaware, the PGL Arlington Major 2022 is only the second Major of the 2021/22 season. Specifically, by season we’re referring to the Dota Pro Circuit.

Accordingly, in order to reach this $500,000 event, teams have had to earn it. Indeed, taking place offline in Arlington, from the 4th of August to the 14th, the 17 top teams in the world are attending the event.

Bearing this in mind, the following are your competitors according to region:

Within these groups, teams will compete in a single round robin with BO2 matches. The stakes are outlined below for each group:

  • Lower than 6th – Eliminated

Only 12 teams will progress to the Playoffs.

From here, a double elimination bracket will decide the competition, with BO3 matches building up to an exciting BO5 Grand Final!
