It’s been a fantastic year for esports. Accordingly, the majority of esports scenes managed to jump back from a difficult year in 2020. Indeed, we can show this off with another Top 5 – our very own Top 5 Viewed Esports Events 2021!

#5 – The International 10

Starting strong, we have the highest prize pool in the history of esports. Accordingly, following last year’s cancellation, there was a lot riding on this.

Yet, after 2 years, the entire community loved the event and reminded us about why Dota 2 is one of the top esports in the world, with a surprise story thanks to Team Spirit which only made the event better.

Valve took as to an offline environment after two years of online Dota Pro Circuit action. Meeting expectations, it’s a great start to our top 5 list.

#4 – PGL Major Stockholm 2021 – Top 5 Viewed Esports Events 2021

Moving onto an event more viewed event, we’re climbing to 3,000,000 peak viewers. Specifically, as the largest CS:GO major all year long, the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 event was insane. With massive storylines and exciting matches, everyone realised that CS:GO was back after a tough time.

Crowning the veterans on Natus Vincere, the CS:GO community made a lot of noise and loved every second of it – the entire esports industry was impacted by this event.

#3 – PUBG Mobile Global Championship Season 0

Moving onto the PUBG Mobile Global Championship, we can’t believe that the peak viewership keeps climbing. Taking us back to January 2021, the Grand Finals concluded the inaugural year of the event.

Accordingly, proving that PUBG Mobile is the world’s top mobile esport, the esport also showed it’s one of the top esports in general with the end of the season event. Almost reaching 4,000,000 peak viewership, the PMGC0 pushed the limits for competitive PUBG Mobile.

Coming in at number 2, the 2021 World Championship has earned a spot on our list. Specifically, with a record peak viewership of 4,000,000 viewers, thi s year had something special about it.

Although Worlds 2020 took place last year successfully, this year was even better. Uniting all the regions once again for some epic competition, this year we saw the rise of the LPL as EDward Gaming proved their skill, taking down former champions DWG KIA in an epic Grand Final.

Following The International earlier this year, it’s quite obvious that Dota 2 is one of the top esports in the world. Accordingly, this opens the way for any organizations who haven’t dived in yet, to do so immediately. Bearing this in mind, Wildcard Gaming Dota 2 is official – read on as we cover the new organization!

Wildcard Gaming Dota 2 – A New Organization Entering Dota

So, Wildcard Gaming, who has teams in other esports, is finally taking the dive into competitive Dota 2. As a North American organization, they’ve managed to find a spot in the NA Dota Pro Circuit by signing the roster of D2 Hustlers.

Specifically, the following roster will be playing under the new banner below:

How to Watch DPC NA Tour 1: Division 1 2021/22– teams, format, schedule, streams, predictions

Following the conclusion of The International a month or so ago, Dota rostermania is slowing down as competition is almost here. Indeed, multiple regions are kicking off the Dota Pro Circuit once again, including North America. Read on as we provide all the viewership details for the DPC NA Tour 1: Division 1 for this upcoming year!

In terms of background, this looks to kick off the entire Dota Pro Circuit. Indeed, for those unaware, the Dota Pro Circuit is the highest level of competition across all regions of competitive Dota 2.

Indeed, in this episode of How to Watch, we’ll be focusing on North America. It’s through the events of the DPC that teams can earn qualification points for international events.

Kicking things off with ESL One Winter 2021, this first tour will kick off on November 30th and run all the way to January 22nd. With the best 8 teams in the region, we have $205,000 on the line for the following competitors:

  • Quincy Crew – Upper Division
  • Evil Geniuses – Upper Division
  • Team Undying – Upper Division
  • 4 Zoomers – Upper Division
  • simply TOOBASED – Upper Division
  • Black N Yellow – Upper Division
  • D2 Hustlers – Lower Division
  • Arkosh Gaming – Lower Division

Do note that although many teams return from the Upper Division of last season, while two new teams are in after being promoted from the Lower Division.

Here’s how seeding will work in this upcoming Tour:

  • First place – qualified to Major Playoffs
  • 2nd place – qualified to Major Group Stage
  • Bottom 2 – relegated to Division II next tour
  • Remaining teams – remain in the current Division

Format

Anyway, with regards to the format, it’s fairly simple. A qualification event such as this one has been simplified with one single group stage.

All teams will be in one group and will go at it through a single round-robin. This means that all teams will face off one another one time in BO3 matches.

With regards to who the best team in the world is, we’ll look back at The International to see who made it the furthest from the region.

Indeed, that would have to be Quincy Crew and Evil Geniuses as they both placed 9-12th at the largest event in the world.

However, since then we’ve seen a tonne of roster changes – who knows what new roster could come out on top to surprise everyone?!

Anyways, we’ll be keeping track of the event together with other regions, this is simply practice for bigger international events later on next year.

OG Dota 2 Roster – A Brand New Roster Announced

It was a tough event for OG back in September at The International 10. Accordingly, they plan to rebuild their legacy with a drastic change to the look of their team. With the stepping back of “Topson”, “n0tail” and “Ceb”, new talent is here. Read on for a look at the OG Dota 2 Roster for next season!

Indeed, the only thing staying the same is the coach – “Misha” who coached the team at The International, is now stepping into the fire as the fifth man on this roster.

Four others join him in this coming season are seen below:

Regarding the DPC, there’s been some noise over at B8. Accordingly, a week or two ago, B8 lost their spot in the Dota Pro Circuit after being kicked out for whatever reason.   • Seasons – a single competitive season will take roughly one year. These will start in Autumn and end in Summer afterwards.
  • Tours – every season of the DPC will be split into three tours. Indeed, each tour will involve a Regional League tournament and a Major tournament. Here, teams earn points and invitations for The International.
  • Regional Leagues and Majors – consistently, each Regional League will involve a round-robin group, while Majors will be elimination.
  • The International – top 12 teams that earn points will progress from each regions.
