Epic Games announce new format for FNCS Chapter 2 Season 6
Open Qualifiers
As stated by the new format, there will be 3 weeks of open qualifiers, having 4 rounds each week. The teams of trios battle it out each round to try and make it into the 4th qualifier. There, the top 3 trios get a spot in the finals at the end of the season. Those who do not make it have the option to take another shot at it in the next open qualifier. Points are given out at the very end of each qualifier and depend on the team’s placement for that overall round.
Semi-Finals
In the Semi-Finals, the top 99 trios from the qualifiers are invited. They split into 3 different groups (called heats) and take each other on for 6 straight rounds. Then after all 6 rounds conclude, the top 6 teams of each heat, head into the Grand Finals. As a bonus, teams that place between 7th and 17th get a spot into the Reboot round.
Reboot Round
In this type of round, the main thing that counts is securing the victory royale. In total, 3 games play out, meaning that the 3 teams that win a game advance onto the Grand Finals. Obviously, if a team wins, they drop from the playing pool during the Reboot round.
Grand Finals
As stated by Epic, the Grand Finals will play out between the 29th and 30th of May 2021. The event will go on for 2 consecutive days having 6 games each day for a total of 12 rounds in total. The team with the highest points after all those rounds is declared Chapter 2 Season 6 champions.
If after reading all of this, you still don’t understand how it will play out, check out the below video. Here, Zeke highlights the main changes to the format and how it will all play out:

American Esports organization Team Liquid have announced that they are adding Scoped to their Fortnite team. Here is their announcement:
Team Liquid Adding Scoped to Fortnite team – Who is he?
Scoped is an up and coming 17-year-old Fortnite professional player from North America. He started competing in Fortnite competitions during 2019, and despite his great results, he never represented any esports organisation in Fortnite. He’s shaken up the North American rankings drastically in 2020, and continues to do so in 2021. Over the course of his 3 years competing in the battle royale, he has achieved an approximate total of $46,450 in esports earnings!
Here are some of his best achievements in Fortnite:
6th in FNCS Chapter 2 Season 2 Grand Finals NA East – 24th May 2020 – $23,000
4th at FNCS Chapter 2 Season 2 Invitational Week 2 NA East – 17th May 2020 – $8,250
1st at Fortnite Cash Cups: Chapter 2 Season 2 Week 2 NA East – $2,600
2 weeks ago, Team Liquid announced the departure of 2 of their players, Alex “Fiber” Bonetello, and River “Riversan” Handley. Another departure that occurred was when Cented got poached by FaZe Clan, leaving the Team LiquidFortnite with only a single member, Stretch.
What’s next?
Now what’s next is for Team Liquid to bring on a couple of other players to refill this Fortnite lineup. Team Liquid have continuously shown their interest in Fortnite competition, and will probably continue to support it till the esport dies.
TSM have announced that they are opting to re-enter the competitive Fortnite scene with their brand new signing of Co1azo. Here is their announcement below:
TSM re-enter Fortnite with Co1azo – Who is he?
22-year-old Co1azo is a professional Fortnite player from North America. He is widely recognized as one of the game’s best controller players and has made a name for himself in recent NA-East Fortnite tournaments. He started competing back in 2019, representing team Evade. Then, he went on to play for Overtime NA, as well as Team Kungarna NA, and now he’s determined to get TSM back on top! Here are some of his best results:
1st in FNCS Chapter 2 Season 5 Qualifiers 2 NA East – 21st February 2021
13th at FNCS Chapter 2 Season 5 Heat 2 NA East – 6th March 2021
18th in FNCS Chapter 2 Season 5 Qualifiers 1 NA East – 14th February 2021Â
TSM’s current competitive Fortnite roster consists of the following:
Cole “Co1azo”
Sardar “Ops” Ghafoor
Anthony “Zexrow” Colandro
Community Reaction
TSM has a long history with the North American Fortnite scene, and they’ve recently temporarily exited it. The Fortnite scene is quite plain with how it reacts to certain things. And this was evident with the reaction that TSM / Fortnite fans had towards the announcement. A couple of people argued that it was dumb of TSM to drop players like SAF, MackWood, as well as Commandment and then “downgrade” to a player like Co1azo. Despite Co1azo’s lack of experience, it does bring up the question as to what led TSM towards this decision.
The competitiveFortnitescene continues to support massively online and open events for the community. Accordingly, the recent FNCS Grand Finals were a massive success. Specifically, Chapter 2 Season 5 concluded with crowning several regional champions. Here at esportsguide, we’ve listed them all in one article!
FNCS Grand Finals – Naming the Victors
We’ll be going by region and presenting the podium finishing teams of three:
Europe: 1st (Hen, Jannisz, Chapix)
NA East: 1st (Slackes, Acorn, Jahq)
NA West: 1st (Arkhram, rehx, EpikWhale)
Brazil: 1st (Caude, Seeyun, KING)
Oceania: 1st (Muz, looter, SpeedyND)
Middle East: 1st (KuKi, Phantom, Nyle)
According to my calculation, over $2,800,000 were up for grabs over these past few days for Fortnite! That’s simply astonishing. Beyond the prize and the incredible level of competition, the viewership seemed to impress too, with statistics yet to be released.
So what’s next for competitive Fortnite?
Well, the community is either expecting an additional Season for Chapter 2 or potentially, a whole new Season to enjoy. And who knows? Perhaps this is all building up to a potential Fortnite World Cup this year, though Epic Games are wisely holding back with regards to making any promises like last year.
Regardless, these named victors, in desperate need of team names, will look forward to maintaining this newfound momentum.
FaZe Clan have just announced that they are signing up and coming player Cented for their Fortnite division. Here is their announcement video:
FaZe signing Cented for Fortnite – Who is he?
19-year-old Evan “Cented” Barron is an extremely young and talented Fortnite professional player from Canada. He kicked off his career in 2019 under team Polar Ace, and slowly improved enough to impress the guys over at Team Liquid. He spent around 2 years with the Liquid organization, and he’s gotten some hefty wins under his belt.
Here are some of Cented’s best achievements in Fortnite:

What’s next?
This is FaZe Clan’s first addition in a very long while… April 6th in fact, when Bizzle joined the team. It’s very interesting to see that FaZe are still heavily passionate about Fortnite, and the benefits of being in such an esport.
Cented already made a name for himself in the past under Team Liquid. Now, alongside his new teammates over at FaZe Clan, he’s looking to increase his current esports earnings, along with a couple of trophies from upcoming events.

With so many talented Fortnite players hungry to win and grab their sweet cash, it can be very hard to predict who will come out on top. It’s also especially hard when you consider that there are a lot of random factors in a battle royale. That being said, looking back at recent results, we can determine that the Guild Esports duo of Flikk and Anas, alongside Gamma Gaming player, Th0masHD have the highest odds of making it big in Europe. In NAE however, we’ve got players like Clix, Bugha and Bizzle leading the pack. Then in NAW, we can consider Favs, Jay and wavyjacob to have a splendid result in the grand finals.

Former Fortnite pro player Cloakzy has announced on his stream that he is mutually parting ways with FaZe Clan after 4 years under their brand. Here is his announcement:
Who is Cloakzy?
Dennis “cloakzy” Lepore is a 26-year-old esports athlete who stunned the world during his time in the competitive Fortnite scene. In June of 2019 he announced his retirement and focused on full-time streaming and creating content.
Here are some of his biggest achievements in Fortnite:
1st at Fortnite Fall Skirmish: Week 6 – TwitchCon Finals – 28th October 2018 – $255,000
2nd in Fortnite Summer Skirmish: Week 2 – North America – 20th July 2018 – $48,000
9th in Fortnite World Cup Finals – Celebrity Pro-Am – 26th July 2019 – $20,000
Cloakzy parting ways with FaZe Clan – Why is this big news?
The main storyline of this entire situation happened all in June 2019, where Cloakzy tried his best to get away from the FaZe organization. Despite all his tries, FaZe denied any sort of contract buyout or method of free agency, and kept him under his 4-year contract, which he signed in 2017. Now, finally, Cloakzy can return to compete in any game he wishes, and hopefully find a new home soon.
Along with his announcement, he also took to twitter to formally apologize to FaZe Clan, for all the negative comments he had said in the past:
In his announcement he goes to say that he doesn’t have an idea on which game to focus on next when it comes to competition. However, one can identify that Cloakzy will either pursue a career in Warzone, VALORANT or even return to Fortnite. We’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out in the end, but until then… Be sure to visit www.esportsguide.com for more esports news!
