100 Thieves parting ways with Ceice and Elevate

American Esports organization 100 Thieves has just announced that they are parting ways with 2 of their main Fortnite players, Ceice and Elevate. Here is their announcement:

100 Thieves parting ways with Ceice and Elevate – Why?

A clear reason as to why they are parting ways has not been made. But with Ceice looking for another team to represent in Fortnite, and Elevate trying to make it in VALORANT, it only seemed natural for 100 Thieves to execute this move. These 2 pros first joined 100 Thieves back in 2019 and managed to get 3rd in the Fortnite World Cup duos tournament a few months later.

Elevate has now retired from professional Fortnite with hopes of landing a career in VALORANT. He kicked off his career when he joined Beastcoast, but was shortly moved to the bench by the end of 2020. Now he has joined Sedated with interest in grabbing solid results in the VALORANT Champions Tour.

This is what Elevate had to say about him departing the team:

“Words can not describe how thankful I am for my time on 100 Thieves. I grew as a player, personality, and friend all with the help of my second family. Goodbyes are always hard but I’ll always still be around. Much love family ❀“

Source

It’s going to be exciting to see where these two eventually land in the near future. We’re sure that with the experience they’ve got, and all the things they learned at 100 Thieves, Ceice and Elevate have a high chance of coming back better than ever.

Zayt retiring from Fortnite

One of North America’s iconic esports figures, Zayt, has announced that he is retiring from Fortnite. Here is his announcement:

Zayt retiring from Fortnite – Why?

In the announcement video that he premiered he states that the main reason for him to quit competing in Fortnite was that he just wasn’t enjoying the game as he used to be. And with Epic Games lowering the prize pool for competitive events, it really didn’t help the situation. This will mean that he will no longer be competing at tournaments, or participating in scrims. NRG uploaded this video to commemorate Zayt’s best moments while competing in Fortnite. Here are some of Zayt’s best achievements in Fortnite as a competitive player:

What will he do now?

As addressed in his video, he mentions that he wants to pursue content creation, and more of a coaching or analytical role within NRG. He also added that he would like to do live match analysis and spectating other players, while providing commentary during their gameplay in tournaments.

This was definitely an unexpected move, especially from a player with Zayt’s capabilities, but this also means that it’s going to be a start of something new for both Zayt and NRG.

Cloud9 Fortnite – Vivid and Chap Dropped Out of the Blue

Our second article of the day is a shocker. Indeed, last year the Fortnite stars of “Vivid” and “Chap” took over the competitive scene. However, just now as a recent part of Cloud9 Fortnites roster, the duo have been released out of the blue. Read on for the full scoop:

Earlier this year, the Team Liquid squad of “Chap”, “Vivid”, Poach” and “72hrs” were feared as one of the best in the competitive Fortnite scene. A few months later, Cloud9 decided to sign the duo of “Chap” and “Vivid”, hoping to keep the lightning in the bottle and to conquer the competitive scene.

High expectations were destroyed with repeatedly poor performances. Indeed, since September, either player has failed to place above 10th at any event. The organization of Cloud9 has been patient enough, but it seems that there is no more room for poor performances. That’s when the announcement has made for the Cloud9 Fortnite roster:

As you can tell, the players themselves may not have felt that the decision was justified together with their fans. There’s no need to discuss this – just take a look at “Chap”‘s performance recently:

What’s the significance of the Cloud9 Fortnite roster change?

Well, with how poorly competitive Fortnite has been looking, such stories don’t bode to well. Furthermore, “Vivid” announced his retirement shortly after and many are speculating as to whether Cloud9 will remain in the scene.

He has only ever played with team Become Legends and has earned an approximate total of about $89,999 in esports earnings.

In a previous article, we covered Guild’s first signing for their Fortnite roster, which was Danish player Flikk. Together, these 2 will certainly deliver huge wins, not only for them, but the organization too.

Guild Esports signing Hen for Fortnite – What’s next?

After their Flikk signing announcement, many were expecting that his two other teammates would be joining exactly after. Despite this, Guild still has 2 more spots which need to be filled, and who’s to say that they’re not next?

FNCS Chapter 2 Season 4 EU – How did Mongraal, Mitr0 and Tayson win?

The trio won a total of 3 matches, and while they were at it, they got 66 eliminations, averaging at 5.5 eliminations per match. This result certainly had an impactful boost on their points as they ended the event with a total of 194 points. Here is one of their Victory Royales:

This was Tayson’s 2nd Fortnite Championship Seasonal win in a row, as for Mongraal and mitr0, this was their first. The trio had an absolutely stunning performance in the final stages of the event and were certainly deserving of a win here at the FNCS Chapter 2 Season 4 EU Grand Final.

Disappointing results

Despite being one of the favourites, the trio of Benjyfishy, MrSavage and LeTsHe, were not so fortunate in their matches. As they had 0 wins and 60 eliminations which got them a total of 132 points in the end.
