Predictions for the Free Fire Malaysia Championship 2021
With regards to Malaysia, the most recent event details we have for the region is from the Free Fire Malaysia Open 2020. Accordingly, from this event, we have the following top 5 teams, who look to be a threat:
4X-Men Esport
Enigma
Argon MY
NOXSCAPE
ICON ELITE
As I’ll reiterate, the competition is still very fresh in this region. Indeed, that makes things a little unpredictable. However, it’s fair to favour the above teams together with others who sit higher in the standings such as Geek Fam and Blacklist International further on. Notably, at the Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore, Geek Fam managed to place 9th, taking $70,000. Maybe we’ll see a new victor this time around? In my opinion though, Geek Fam look like the favourites heading into this event as of right now, though anything can change.
Besides the competition itself, we have high expectations for the event in general. In fact, Free Fire has topped the charts this past year and we expect the mobile esport to keep bringing the heat for the entire esports scene in general.
Specifically, Phoenix Force are your winners of the recent international Free Fire event. Yet, the real winner here is definitely Garena. Accordingly, the Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore Viewership was simply mindblowing. Read on to learn how such statistics doubled since the last event!
World Series 2021 Singapore Viewership – Hitting 5,000,000!
It’s simply without question that Garena Free Fire is a Tier 1 esports in its own right. Specifically, after this event, I’m not sure whether any other event I can recall surpasses these figures. However, prior to jumping the gun, let’s first discuss the previous iteration of the event. Back in 2019, held in Rio, the following numbers were achieved:
Peak Viewers: 2,016,157
Average Viewers: 1,280,050
Air Time: 6 hours
Here at esportsguide, we usually don’t include the ‘air time’, but for this event it’s special. Indeed, such numbers were achieved in only 6 hours. Moving to the 2021 iteration, the offline event in Singapore just earned some worldwide record making numbers:
Peak Viewers: 5,414,953
Average Viewers: 2,087,307
Air Time: 9 hours
Indeed, this is the highest peak viewership recorded at an esports event. Here at esportsguide, we’re proud to have invested ourselves in the title since its early beginnings. We’re excited to see how the esport progresses as time goes by.
As always, we’d like to thank Esports Charts for making such information publically available.
Finally, despite the week delay, the Singapore Free Fire World Series is finally over. Accordingly, this event had massive expectations to compensate for the cancellation of last year. Indeed, many say it has, with Phoenix Force being your 2021 Free Fire World Champions! Let’s review their journey.
Free Fire World Series – Winning it For Thailand
Phoenix Force, as part of the EVOS Esports TH esports organization, have won it for Thailand – a region which truly loves Free Fire. Indeed, they walked away as champions of the $2,000,000 event which concluded on the 30th May.
Thanks to their win at the Free Fire Pro League Thailand Season 4, the team earned a direct seeding into the Finals. Once the Finals kicked off on May 30th, Phoenix Force never really let off the gas. Accordingly, they earned multiple first place finishes to cement their top seed – quite distant to the second place team of LOUD.
Take a look at the final scoring yourself:
An incredibly dominant showing from the Thai team – a clear cut above the rest. Beyond their own individual success as a team, the entire event was awesome for the esports scene.
Unfortunately, due to certain health measures, one of the biggest events of the year is having to change. Specifically, the Free Fire World Series Singapore Finals has had to undergo such changes. Accordingly, we’ll be providing you some insight over how everything has been affected.
Free Fire World Series Singapore Finals – Moved to May 30th
So what’s changed? Let’s dive into some quick facts:
Play-In Stage – will not change and will still take place on May 22nd
Grand Finals – specifically, these have been moved from May 27th up to May 30th.
Why was this done? According to Garena, this was all done to make sure that the players are safe. For example, so far four teams have been counted out due to to health situations. It’s clear that regardless of what’s going to happen, the event will go ahead with the $2 million prize pool.
Yet, Garena will still be giving some of those teams that were cancelled out some prize pool anyway – a nice move from the organizers.
As a reminder, 9 teams will compete in the Play-Ins. Here, they’ll earn three spots and join the remaining competitors at the Grand Final. This change isn’t holding this event back.
