In terms of format, the event will use a ‘Conquestformat typical within the Tier 2 esport. It’s somewhat complicated, but here’s a simplification:

  • The competition plays over 3 days
  • Day 1 involves 5 rounds of Swiss pairings
  • Day 2 involves winners from Day 1, thrown into 4 more Swiss pairings
  • On the last day, the top 8 fight in a single-elimination playoff

Masters Tour 2020 Montreal, as an online tournament, looks to crown another Masters Champion. Predictions are somewhat impossible due to the fact that almost every event a new champion is crowned – this is due to the open nature of these events and the high level of competition involved.

This is an opportunity for lower competition to compete while GrandMasters is currently underway.

Overall, the competition is testing. Specifically, the format is tough. Split into three stages, including a swiss tournament, group stage and playoffs – it’s a lot.

In terms of predictions, the names of bloodyface” and “Eddie” come to mind following their fight for first place at the Season 1 event. However, Grandmasters Season 2 is playing on a different version of the game. Will this be enough to shake up the standings?

Regardless, it’s a great time to be a Hearthstone fan as three regions all enter the ring at the same time. Do note that the other regions are equally competitive as similar prize pools are on the line.
