Predictions

In terms of predictions, we’ll be taking a look back at the Group Stage in order to determine who’s the most likely to take home the majority of the $500,000.

To begin with, many are targetting Hong Kong Attitude as the number one threat for the remainder of the event. Indeed, a 5-0 record leads the entire competition so far, as the team hasn’t lost a single map yet. A 10-0 record makes them the most dangerous team by far – but maybe they’re group was easier?

From the other group, Group B, Team Flash is the emerging favourite thanks to a 4-1 record. Despite an imperfect record, they are definitely a strong team ready to take on any challenge.

Besides those two rosters, multiple teams sit in the middle of the pack. Accordingly, the following teams earned a 3-2 scoreline and can be considered as equally matched:

  • All Combo
  • Buriram United Esports
  • Saigon Phantom
  • MAD Team
  • Talon Esports

Nothing all year compares to the gravity this event holds. This event also shows how far competitive Arena of Valor has come all this time.

Arena of Valor Tips and Tricks – A Practical Guide

Here at esportsguide, our recent series of Tips and Tricks has truly taken off. In fact, after we’ve covered a series of top titles, we’re now ready to dive into our very first mobile game. In fact, Arena of Valor is the next title we’ll be diving into. Accordingly, read on to hear our tips and tricks!

Before proceeding, do note that the title of Arena of Valor may be under a different name depending on your region. Accordingly, an Eastern version called Kings of Glory and a previous title of Honor of Kings are all the same title. Bearing this in mind, these tips apply to all of these titles.

Mechanical Skills

As a mobile title, we’ll have to take a different approach here when it comes to mechanical skill. Unlike a controller or keyboard and mouse, the entire interface is literally in your hands. Here are some tips for this mobile MOBA title:

  • Hold the mobile device appropriately – you’ll want to consider two approaches. Either hold the device in your hands and hence limit only your thumbs to the screen. Otherwise, lay the device flat and utilize more than one finger to interact with the screen – the latter is preferred by competitors.

  • Master tapping – inexperienced mobile gamers will take way to long too long to translate their thoughts to actions. Especially as a MOBA, a flurry of taps will be required for movement, item use and much more. Practice will develop this skill.
  • Ensure that your hands are as comfortable as possible – this may be done by utilizing a larger screen, avoiding sweaty hands and keeping your fingers warm – find what works for you.
  • Manoeuvres such as stutter stepping will follow secondary to a strong familiarity with tapping.

In-Game Knowledge and Awareness

For our Arena of Valor Tips and Tricks, some of our pieces of advice are similar to what you’ve read before. Indeed, as a MOBA, certain general tips will still apply as they do to other titles in this genre such as Dota 2 and League of Legends. Regardless, here’s a reminder:

aover
Credits: Arena of Valor
  • Ensure that you have a massive pool of knowledge with regards to the champions – knowing weakness and strengths will prove essential
  • Constantly look at the mini-map – something new players are reminded to do and for good reason. A tonne of information can be gained from the map.
  • Be aware of meta shifts with respect to both champions and in-game items too.
  • Don’t waste gold on heroes and instead focus on arcana
  • Playing Abyssal Clash – this overlooked game mode is great to hone in some skills. These include team fighting, hero abilities, power spikes and generally puts you in tough situations.
  • Adapting to how the game progresses – pre-game, mid-game and late-game all offer their own strategies apart from defence and offence.

Personal and Interpersonal – Arena of Valor Tips and Tricks

Keeping your cool in Arena of Valor is probably more important than in any other competitive title. A tiny amount of stress or rage is enough to cause players to fumble a tap on the screen which could be costly. Here are some more Arena of Valor Tips and Tricks:

arena of valor
Credits: Arena of Valor
  • Hold off playing ranked – many casuals have the tendency to play a few normal games and immediately dive into the ranked playlist. This won’t get you anyway. You must develop the understanding that you’ll need time and practice before you’re ready.
  • Each time you lose, be sure to identify what caused the loss within yourself – blaming teammates won’t get you very far as a player and a person.
  • Discuss and analyze your own gameplay with others in order to progress, being able to take criticism and grow from it
  • Whatever happens, don’t lose your cool or play too aggressively – both mentalities can harm your team’s chances of winning.

And there they are, our Arena of Valor Tips and Tricks. Be sure to stay tuned to the site for more guides just like this!

How to Watch the 2020 Garena Challenger Series Summer: event, teams, schedule, stream, predictions.

The Garena Challenger Series has quickly become a staple event for competitive Kings of Glory/Arena of Valor. Hosting two-season events each year, the 2020 Garena Challenger Series Summer is almost upon us. Kicking off shortly, we’re ready to witness the crowning of a new champion. Read on to learn How to Watch the entire event!

Running from the 15th of August to 8th November, an epic journey awaits. Split into multiple stages, this serves as one of the largest events for the year. Based in Taiwan, the Tier 1 event is throwing approximately $117,000 on the line for the six teams present at the event.

garena
Credits: Garena

Accordingly, the offline event looks to take place at the Garena E-Sports Stadium in Taiwan. As previously stated, there’s only space for six of the best Arena of Valor teams in the world – and here they are. Note that most of them have made it as qualifiers from the Spring event:

  • ONE Team
  • Hong Kong Attitude
  • Flash Wolves
  • MAD Team
  • Most Outstanding Player
  • Samsung Taiwan Esports

Evidently, Samsung Taiwan Esports bought into the event. Indeed, MS Esports withdrew their spot and left the door open for them.

Most teams, having just come off the Arena of Valor Premier League 2020, are rearing to go. Also, the event serves as a small warm-up for the King Pro League Fall 2020 event.

Accordingly, let’s dive right into the format.

Format

Chiefly, the event is split up into the typical phases of Group Stage and Playoffs.

garenas
Credits: Garena

Group Stage

The group stage will involve an uncommon Triple Round-Robin format. Teams will match up with one another three times in BO5 games. All six teams will make up the single group.

By the end of the Group Stage, roughly on October 18th, seeds will be earned as follows:

  • First – Finals Bye
  • Second – Playoffs 2 Bye
  • Third-Fourth – Playoffs 1

Playoffs

Interestingly, Playoffs will involve a Single Elimination King of the Hill with BO5 matches. All of the action will conclude with a BO7 Finals.

For those unaware, the format looks somewhat like this, similar to the Spring event:

gcs
Credits: Liquipedia

All in all, only one team will come out on top.

Schedule

Group stage alone will consist of 10 weeks of action followed by the week or so for Playoffs. Most weeks will involve two to three matches.

gcs
Credits: Garena

For example, below is the schedule for the first three weeks of the Group Stage:

First Week

15th August

  • ST vs FW
  • HKA vs MOP

16th August

  • ONE vs HKA
  • MOP vs MAD

Second Week

22nd August

  • FW vs MAD
  • ST vs HKA

23rd August

  • FW vs MOP
  • ONE vs ST

Third Week

29th August

  • MAD vs HKA
  • ONE vs FW

30th August

  • ONE vs MOP
  • MAD vs ST

All team names have been shortened for convenience. For a full schedule, visit the following link.

Predictions

In terms of predictions, I’d consult the recent performances at the Arena of Valor Premier League. Here, when fighting for $350,000, the involved teams placed accordingly:

  • Flash Wolves – 1st
  • Hong Kong Attitude – 3rd
  • MAD Team – 4th
  • ONE Team – 11-12th

The remaining two teams weren’t at the event. On the flipside, if we consult the Garena Challenger Series Spring event, here, ONE Team managed to come out on top. So, in reality, it’s rather difficult to predict the outcome for this one.

What is for sure is that nobody’s sure where Samsung Taiwan Esports sits in the competition as the unknown factor. Besides them as the dark horse, I’d put ONE Team and Flash Wolves as the favourites.

King Pro League Spring 2020 Week 10 – Final Week Preview!

Kicking off on the 18th of March this year, the King Pro League Spring 2020 is finally drawing to a conclusion as the tenth and final week is taking place this week after two months of intense gameplay. Read on as we preview Week 10 of the KPL!

Sixteen teams split into two groups of eight, referred to as the Eastern and the Western Conference respectively, took on the season and look to fight for the final spots available for the Playoffs. It’s through these Playoffs that teams can earn a qualification spot for the Honor of Kings World Champion Cup 2020. Let’s see how they stack up below:

Eastern Conference

  • LGD Goose (13-1)
  • Royal Never Give Up (10-5)
  • TTG X-Quest (7-7)
  • eStar Pro (5-8)
  • VICI Gaming (5-9)
  • TOP Esports (4-9)
  • Hero JiuJing (1-12)
  • Edward Gaming (1-12)

Western Conference

  • AG Super Play (10-3)
  • Dynamite Gaming (10-3)
  • TS Gaming (9-4)
  • Team WE (8-6)
  • YTG Gaming (7-7)
  • Gank Gaming (6-7)
  • Rogue Warriors (6-7)
  • QG Happy (6-8)

Many narratives are heading into the 10th week as multiple teams look to seal the deal and complete their fifteen matches of the season.

Just to recap, within each group, a first and second place finish allows for an Upper Bracket finish, third within Lower Bracket R2 and fourth and fifth into Lower Bracket R1. The bottom three end their journey here.

When taking a look at the Eastern Conference, a heavy divide has resulted in a tight fight for the middle of the pack. So much so that LGD Goose and Royal Never Give Up have both landed their spots in Upper Bracket R1, as the only teams in the season to do so.

King Pro League Spring 2020 Week 10 - Final Week Preview!
Credit: Tencent

Third place is a different story, however, as TTG X-Quest and eStar Pro are both gunning for the spot with matches this weekend. Otherwise, the bottom two teams are decidedly out of the competition.

Moving on to the Western Conference, the outcome looks entirely unpredictable as no spots have been solidified yet. Heading into this final week, only QG Happy are completely out of it – expect one incredible fight to the end as we may have to resort to map difference. AG Super Play and Dynamite Gaming both top the group with identical statistics and every place beneath them is separated by one win.

The stakes are as high as ever – every match this week from the 20th May to the 24th will matter to define King Pro League Spring 2020. Therefore, we’ll conclude with the schedule listed below:

May 20

  • TES vs EDG.M
  • AG.SP vs RW

May 21

  • DYG vs GK
  • Hero vs Ts

May 22

  • LGD vs Hero
  • QGHappy vs YTG

May 23

  • GK vs WE
  • AG.SP vs TTG.XQ
  • eStarPro vs TES

May 24

  • DYG vs VG
