So, after the regular season of the new LEC Winter Split, we now have the first ever LEC Winter Playoffs 2023. Accordingly, only 4 teams remain in the competition – read on as we preview the final stage of competition below!

Anyways, the 8 franchised LEC teams went at it for one week, trying to be in the top half.

Competing through two groups of 4, in double elimination style, only the following teams have progressed:

  • KOI
  • G2 Esports
  • SK Gaming
  • MAD Lions

And now, in the final stage of the competition, the final four are competing for all of the marbles.

More specifically, the winner earns 50% of the prize pool, while also earning coveted seeds to the MSI 2023 Play-In and the LEC Season Finals.

Announced in the past week, all it took was a partnership between ALDI and Vitality.

Indeed, under the title ‘French Bees’ this academy project looks to extend to the multiple esports which Team Vitality supports.

Namely, this starts with League of Legends, and the following roster announced this week:

  • Emeline “Kasane” Baudouin – Support
  • Alyssa “sai” Lenoir – Mid
  • Lexa “Lexa” Grellier – Jungler

Over the past few years, there’s been one story for the PSG Talon LoL roster 2023. Indeed, despite regional dominance, they continue to fall short at the international events. Accordingly, they’ve made a strong signing which could change their outlook!

Currently, in the $80,000 PCS Spring event, PSG Talon are actually placed second. Indeed, as part of a three-way tie between Frank Esports, PSG Talon and CTBC Flying Oyster, all these teams are 5-2 in scoreline.

Anyways, as an upgrade to the team, they’ve signed a player who played a role in EDward Gaming’s World Championship victory in 2021.

Indeed, for those unaware, there are $200,000 on the line for the top 10 LCS teams. Accordingly, only the top 2 will progress to MSI later on in the year.

In this context, FlyQuest is a massive favourite considering their impressive run.

Moreover, their only loss this season came at the hands of TSM, in 1-0 fashion.

Mid-Season Invitational 2023 – Riot Releases Event Details

As the Spring Splits continue in each region, teams are working to make it to the next international event. Accordingly, the Mid-Season Invitational 2023 is taking place soon. Read on to learn all the details which Riot just revealed!

Mid-Season Invitational 2023 – Coming to London

Overall, the Mid-Season Invitational 2023 will take place from May 2nd to 21st. Here, the 13 qualified teams from all over the world will compete at the Copper Box Arena, in London, United Kingdom.

Here, this monumental event will feature a new format for competitive League of Legends – a double elimination stage across the Play-In and Bracket.

Specifically, lower seeded teams will have to fight through the Play-In to join the higher seeded teams waiting for them in the Bracket Stage. Here’s how dates will work for each stage:

  • Play-In Stage – May 2-7th
  • Bracket Stage – May 9-14th, May 16-20th
  • Final – May 21st

As a reminder, teams attending will be from the following regions in the Play-In Stage:

  • Two seeds: LEC, LCS, LPL
  • One seed: LLA, CBLOL, PCS, VCS and LJL

Otherwise, following the Worlds win, 2 LCK seeds will directly head to the Bracket Stage.

How to Watch LJL Spring 2023 – teams, format, schedule, streams, predictions

Indeed, there are many regions for competitive League of Legends. Sure, there are the more popular regions such as Korea, Europe and North America, but there are many more. Accordingly, one such example of Japan. Bearing this in mind, with LJL Spring 2023 kicking off next week, we thought we’d discuss How to Watch this exciting event below!

For those unaware, the LJL, or League of Legends Japan League 2023 is the 17th Japan’s LoL Split. This time around, the top 8 teams in Japan will be competing for regional dominance. Furthermore, this is the first Split of the year, to be followed by Summer after MSI 2023.

Also, do note that ahead of this season, FENNEL is a new name after buying out the spot of Rascal Jester, a former organization in the scene after 8 years.

Taking place as of 28th January, the top 8 teams in the region will be competing for $77,000 of prize pool while the first placed team will also earn a direct spot to the Mid-Season Invitational.

Format

The format involves two stages of competition.

Firstly, we have the Group Stage. Here, teams will be competing in one group, with a double round robin of matches which means that each team plays one another twice. Following every team playing their 14 BO3 matches, the teams will be doing their best to fall in the 3-6th seeds.

Here’s how seeding into the Playoffs will be affected:

  • 1st-2nd – seeded into Winners’ Finals
  • 3rd-6th – seeded into Losers’ Round 1

Of course, where there’s a Winner and Loser side, there’s a double elimination bracket. Accordingly, the top 6 will have the opportunity to fight through a bracket with BO5 matches in order to determine the final standings. Do note that a double elimination implies that teams who are in the Loser bracket cannot afford to lose or there’ll be eliminated.

Finally, a regional champion will be crowned and the winner will qualify for Mid-Season Invitational 2023!
