Accordingly, the most eye-catching addition is the engravings on the trophy. Specifically, the previous Worlds winners have their names listed ever since the likes of 2011.
Otherwise, we’re more concerned with who will lift it. For those unaware, the World Championship will be kicking off on September 29th.
Until then, there are certain Regional Finals taking place to determine the final seeds.

Worlds 2022 Seeds – Joining the Numbers
Ever since placing 9-11th at Worlds 2021, Rogue has been trying to come back stronger. Accordingly, this season they’ve managed to maintain their Top 3 status in the European region
So much so, that at the LEC Spring 2022 they finished second. Since then, the LEC Summer Playoffs have been ongoing.
Notably, LEC teams are fighting to make it to Worlds through four paths – two seeds to the Group Stage and two seeds to the Play-In.
Yesterday saw the opening matches take place and here, Rogue managed to take down MAD Lions in an epic and well-fought 3-2 series. Considering this, Rogue has flown straight to the Semi-Finals.
Accordingly, this means they cannot place lower than 4th and hence are guaranteed a spot at Worlds 2022.
However, will they manage to impress this time? Besides 9-11th last year, they placed 13-16th the year before. We’ll be curious to see if any team from the LEC can make it deep into the competition.
Finally, after months of competition, the LEC Summer 2022 regular season has concluded. Specifically, concluding last week, we’ll be discussing the season prior to the Playoffs. Read on for your LEC Summer 2022 recap below!
So, for those unaware, the LEC Summer is divided into two stages. In this article, we’re referring to the regular season or Group Stage rather than the Playoffs upcoming.
Over the past few months, teams have fought through a double round robin in order to earn a spot in the Playoffs where they’ll fight for Worlds 2022 seeds.
Here are how the standings concluded:
#1 – G2 Esports – 12-6
#2 – MAD Lions – 12-6
#3 – Rogue – 11-7
#4 – Misfits Gaming – 10-8
#5 – Fnatic – 10-8
#6 – Excel Esports – 9-9
As you can tell, the competition was incredibly tight throughout, with very little separating the top 6.
Now, the top 6 teams are heading to the Playoffs which will kick off later this week. Here, a double elimination bracket with BO5 matches will determine the top 4 teams. Notably, the top 4 will seed for Worlds 2022 – the largest event of the year.
We’re not sure exactly who’ll make it, but it should be an awesome Playoff event!
Currently, multiple summer playoffs in many regions are deciding the first seeds for Worlds 2022. Accordingly, all eyes are on one of the top regions in the world, the LPL. Bearing this in mind, we have our first confirmed seed from the LPL Summer Playoffs 2022!
LPL Summer Playoffs 2022 – Back From 2020
For those unaware, the LPL is being granted four seeds for Worlds 2022. Here are them specified below:
LPL Championship Points – Group Stage
LPL Regional Finals – Group Stage
Summer Playoffs – Group Stage
LPL Regional Finals – Play-In
Bearing this in mind, Top Esports has multiple ways to qualify for Worlds 2022.
Considering that Top Esports clearly have the highest Championship Points, after RNG were eliminated, they will qualify regardless of Playoffs performance.
Accordingly, let’s look at the record of Top Esports internationally:
3-4th @ Worlds Championship 2020
Indeed, that’s their only record internationally. However, after placing second at LPL Spring 2022 and potentially finishing first in LPL Summer, things are looking great.
Yet, they remain favoured considering that EDward Gaming won Worlds 2021 (LPL) and RNG won MSI 2022 (LPL).
We can’t wait to see if Top Esports can carry the mantle for the region!
For those unaware, the LCK Summer Playoffs are currently underway. Accordingly, teams in the region are fighting to qualify for Worlds. Bearing this in mind, after the semifinals, we have confirmed one of Worlds 2022 seeds!
Worlds 2022 Seeds – A Matter of Time
As a reminder, three teams from the LCK will seed to Worlds. Specifically as follows:
LCK Championship Points – Group Stage
LCK Summer Winner – Group Stage
Regional Finals – Play-Ins
Accordingly, LCK Championship Points have been earned across the entire season.
Currently, the LCK Summer Playoffs only has one match left – the grand final between Gen.G and T1.
However, regardless of the outcome, T1 will be heading to the Worlds 2022 Groups Stage. Considering the team already has the most LCK Championship Points, they’ll be qualifying anyways.
Naturally, this is no surprise. Indeed, T1 is heading to Worlds for the third time in four years. Noting how exciting the LCK region has been, T1 is automatically a favourite for this international event.
Otherwise, over the next few days, more seeds will be announced as Playoff events conclude.
