TSM Academy LCS Lock-In – Fielded Due to Travel Issues

To kick off the season, Riot Games has organized an LCS Lock-In 2022. Here, the rosters can engage in some friendlies to warm up for the regular season. However, there seems to be a problem with TSM. For this reason, the TSM Academy LCS Lock-In will attend instead – read on to learn more!

TSM Academy LCS Lock-In – The Main Roster Unavailable

Yes, TSM will field its Academy roster instead of the Main roster for the LCS Lock-In 2022. Indeed, the news was made public in the following Twitter post:

Accordingly, it’s a shame, though it’s not the end of the world. Moreso, this adds a level of excitement – can the TSM Academy team take out any big-name franchises?

Bearing this in mind, the following is the TSM Academy roster:

  • Omran “V1per” Shoura – Top
  • Young “Hyper” Seo – Jungle
  • Ji “Takeover” Hyeun-min – Mid
  • Tony “Instinct” Ng – Bot
  • Wang “Yursan” Sheng-Yu – Support

Also quite new, the Academy roster could potentially upset a large team, though these are friendlies at the end of the day. We’ll have to wait and see on 14th January.

Let’s hope that TSM can sort out their issues prior to the Regular Season officially kicking off mid-January.

Specifically, this will involve all 10 teams competing in a Double Round Robin. This means that each team plays against one another twice in total, in best of three matches.

Furthermore, once that’s over, the top 6 teams will be qualified for the separate Spring Playoffs event to take place later on.

Predictions

It’s been a while since we’ve witnessed the LCK go at it, and accordingly, roster changes play a role in the difficulty involved when making accurate predictions.

Anyways, the last time the franchise went at it was back in the LCK Summer 2021 event. Here, the following standings were observed:

  • #1 – DWG KIA
  • #2 – Gen.G
  • #3 – Nongshim RedForce
  • #4 – T1
  • #5 – Liiv SANDBOX
  • #6 – Afreeca Freecs (now renamed)

These results together with their second place at Worlds 2021 places DWG KIA at the top. Beneath them, we’d like to favour Gen.G also, though it’s clear that DWG KIA need to prove that they’re still contenders for both regional and international dominance.

We can’t wait to see one of League of Legends’ most popular regions once again!
