Predictions

This is a highly difficult prediction to make – each team is a winner in their own right. Besides that, the competitive genre of battle royale in itself is unpredictable enough.

In terms of favourites, two teams stand out. Indeed, the respective champions of the World Leagues are definitely the ones to watch out for. Namely, Bigetron RA from World League East and Futbolist from World League West are your favourites. Both teams manage to come out on top across 4 regions – an achievement not to be taken lightly.

Regardless, every team stands a solid chance out there on the battleground. This includes the unannounced final team we cannot wait to hear about!

The Peacekeeper Elite Championship 2020 is an event designated for the Chinese region of the scene. Taking place this weekend, we’ve got all the details below as to how to watch it!

Before proceeding, do note that ‘Peacekeeper Elite’ is in fact a Chinese version which Tencent made of PUBG Mobile made for this region specifically.

A total of 15 squads of four are waiting to compete from the 14-15th November. With roughly $1,816,039 on the line, here’s the list of the teams squaring it out at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center:

  • Four Angry Men
  • Elite Esports
  • Nova Esports
  • Royal Never Give Up
  • King of Gamers Club
  • Futbolist
  • Unicorns of Love
  • Loops
  • Valdus the Murder
  • Natus Vincere
  • Wildcard Gaming
  • Team Umbra
  • T1
  • Tempo Storm
  • REJECT Scarlet

Some teams qualified while others were directly invited to the event.

Format

The format is really simple. Accordingly, no progression is present. All 15 teams are being thrown into one single group. Within this group a total of eight matches will take place where teams can earn points.

Here’s how the point system will work.

Position

  • 1st (15)
  • 2nd (12)
  • 3rd (!0)
  • 4th (8)

Schedule for Peacekeeper Elite Championship 2020

The total of eight matches will take place with 4 each day.

While the schedule isn’t very precise, what we do know is that games kick off on both 14th and 15th November at the exact same time:

  • 5.20 (GMT +8)

Following each game, there will be a 15-30 minute break or so.

Streams

As the event is oriented for a Chinese community, all coverage will be in the respective language:

Predictions

Predictions for this sort of event are rather difficult. One thing we can definitely begin with is the fact that the Chinese teams are the favourites – both by the fans and statistically. Four Angry Men seem to be the favourite after their victory at the Peacekeeper Elite League a few weeks ago.

pec

Last year, the 2019 iteration saw the Chinese team of XQF taking home the prize and the same is expected for this year – noting the fact that 4AM were so close to taking it last year too.

However, that’s not to count out any of the other competitors too. As we like to remind our viewers, competitive battle royale can have a mind of its own especially due to how random it may be at times. Also, momentum plays a big part of it too, especially with just 8 games to play.

General predictions outline a great event for PUBG Mobile in general. Tencent has been putting in an enormous amount of effort behind the title and it’s beginning to show as the mobile esport takes off.

PUBG Mobile Global Championship Preview

While other esports scenes are concluding their seasons, competitive PUBG Mobile is reaching its climax very shortly. Indeed, the PUBG Mobile Global Championship is almost among us. Kicking off on the 24th November, it looks to be the largest competitive PUBG Mobile event ever!

Organized by Tencent, the online event is putting a phenomenal $2,000,000 on the line. This is the largest prize pool in the history of the esports scene. Fighting for the prize is a total of 24 squads from all over the world, qualifying from all around the world.

Indeed, in terms of format, a league stage kicks off on November 24th.

  • 24 teams placed into 3 groups
  • 4 weeks of League stage – this will involve 12 matches each week within a round-robin format
  • The top 16 proceed to the Super Weekend.

The top 16 will meet on the weekend of December 20th. A total of 18 matches each week will run through the single lobby format. It’s here that teams will rack up points for the final league standings. Points are awarded through kills and placements.

PUBG Mobile Tips and Tricks – A Practical Guide

The last esports title we covered in our new featured series of Tips and Tricks was Arena of Valor. Indeed, at certain times this year it’s been the most popular competitive mobile title in the world. In fact, probably the only other to compete with it is PUBG Mobile. Accordingly, we’ll be diving into our PUBG Mobile Tips and Tricks right now!

Mechanical Skill

As a mobile counterpart of the popular PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, PUBG Mobile will offer similar demands to players. The stark difference is the platform – a mobile one. In a battle royale such as this one, managing your inventory is quick and easy with a keyboard. A touch screen simply changes everything.

PUBG Mobile Gameplay
Credits: Tencent

Do note that our tips here will be similar to other mobile titles such as Arena of Valor.

Here are some tips for this mobile battle royale title:

  • Unlike AoV, it’s not recommended to ever play with the mobile device flat on a surface. You’ll need to use your thumbs for precise control when aiming in all situations. Also, you might even consider purchasing an external controller – though it’s not recommended.
  • Why is it not recommended? Inventory management. This is the main challenge of a touchscreen and indeed, you’ll have to touch the screen here in order to drag and move items in and out. Most likely, you’ll have to perform such tasks in high-pressure situations. Ensure that you know where you’re tapping to the point of robotics.
  • As your thumbs are in constant contact with a glass or plastic screen which will likely heat up with time – sliding is possible. Sweaty thumbs will severely cost you during gunfights so make sure to take regular breaks when possible.
  • Master your aim and movement. It goes without saying that like any other shooter, you’ll want to have the best aim and movement possible to make the best of any gunfight. Such skills will take hours to earn should you be willing to put in the effort.

In-Game Knowledge and Awareness

The difficulty in battle royale for competitors is finding consistency. Each and every time, you’ll be encountering new situations, different enemy players, varying locations and items in your inventory. Despite all the mechanical skill in the world, in-game knowledge and awareness is simply more important.

pubgmobile

Read on for our In-Game Knowledge and Awareness section of our PUBG Mobile Tips and Tricks:

  • Following our last mechanical tip of managing your aim, players also need to learn to judge distance successfully. Wherever you choose to point your aim needs to consider the bullet drop involved – this comes with experience.
  • Knowing the maps. In battle royales, playing the same map over and over again implies that most players ‘know’ the map. However, it’s usually superficial as players tend to develop the habit of landing in the same five spots. In order to step up your game, you need to know every single corner of the map to avoid any surprises during ranked play.
  • Pick up the right items – don’t waste inventory space on inferior or useless weapons. Bearing that in mind, you’ll need to judge certain risks – should you pick up that strong weapon and risk being in the open with no cover while doing so?
  • Manage your inventory so that during gunfights you don’t mess up. Specifically, situations such as running out of ammo, having no health packs and using the wrong gun don’t happen. These could easily ruin a game and your day at the same time.
  • Map positioning – when viewing the closing circle, try predict where it’ll end.
  • Use vehicles – many players often fear using vehicles as they attract attention. However, you shouldn’t be afraid to use them when you have to.
  • Keep up to date with the meta and competitive scene for more tips and strategies.

Personal and Interpersonal – PUBG Mobile Tips and Tricks

sadadsad

Battle Royale’s can be frustrating due to the random nature of it all. Following a victory, you can easily place dead last by landing badly and being caught with no weapon. Here are some more PUBG Mobile Tips and Tricks:

  • Do not take unwarranted risks – playing your life too often won’t end very well. All the time spent looting and positioning will be wasted should you be too greedy and take on too many opponents. Pick fights which you have a clear advantage in either through better positioning, weapons or items.
  • Work with your team by providing information, sharing loot and reviving them when possible. There will be stressful situations where you’ll have to choose between reviving a teammate or not – make sure to think clearly in these moments.
  • Don’t play if irritated or stress as this will impair your focus
  • Learn from any mistakes and understand why you lost each gunfight after a game

That’s all – we hope you enjoyed our PUBG Mobile Tips and Tricks. More guides are coming up soon!
