Over the past week, the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 took place. Indeed, apart from the prize pool, a coveted spot for PMGC 2021 was on the line. Accordingly read on as we discuss GodLike Esports PMGC 2021!
GodLike Esports PMGC 2021 – BGIS 2021 Recap
However, the funny part is that GodLike Esports didn’t win the event. Specifically, they only placed fourth at the event, with the following standings:
#1 – Skylightz Gaming
#2 – TSM
#3 – Team XO
#4 – GodLike Esports
Showing a strong performance at the Grand Finals stage, placing fourth was supposedly not good enough to qualify for PMGC 2021.
However, news quickly came out that there was a catch. Accordingly to appear at PMGC in Dubai later this week, teams need to follow travel restrictions.
Bearing this in mind, the three teams that placed higher than GodLike Esports could not make it to the LAN event due to travel restrictions. Although it’s unideal – rules are rules.
Although placing fourth, they remain one of the fan favourite events for the region with the following regions:
Abhijeet “GHATAK” Andhare
Suraj “Neyoo” Majumdar
Jonathan “JONATHAN” Amaral
Abhishek “ZGOD” Choudhary
Vivek “ClutchGod” Horo
Despite the strange circumstances, let’s see if they can make some noise at PMGC 2021!

It’s been a fantastic year for esports. Accordingly, the majority of esports scenes managed to jump back from a difficult year in 2020. Indeed, we can show this off with another Top 5 – our very own Top 5 Viewed Esports Events 2021!
Before we proceed, let’s give a warm thanks to Esports Charts for making such viewership details public.
#5 – The International 10
Peak Viewership – 2,741,514
Average Viewers – 857,343
Offline
Prize Pool: $40,018,195
Starting strong, we have the highest prize pool in the history of esports. Accordingly, following last year’s cancellation, there was a lot riding on this.
Yet, after 2 years, the entire community loved the event and reminded us about why Dota 2 is one of the top esports in the world, with a surprise story thanks to Team Spirit which only made the event better.
Valve took as to an offline environment after two years of online Dota Pro Circuit action. Meeting expectations, it’s a great start to our top 5 list.
#4 – PGL Major Stockholm 2021 – Top 5 Viewed Esports Events 2021
Peak Viewership – 2,748,434
Average Viewers – 593,061
Offline
Prize Pool: $2,000,000
Moving onto an event more viewed event, we’re climbing to 3,000,000 peak viewers. Specifically, as the largest CS:GO major all year long, the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 event was insane. With massive storylines and exciting matches, everyone realised that CS:GO was back after a tough time.
Crowning the veterans on Natus Vincere, the CS:GO community made a lot of noise and loved every second of it – the entire esports industry was impacted by this event.
#3 – PUBG Mobile Global Championship Season 0
Peak Viewership – 3,801,998
Average Viewers – 528,822
Online/Offline
Prize Pool: $2,000,000
Moving onto the PUBG Mobile Global Championship, we can’t believe that the peak viewership keeps climbing. Taking us back to January 2021, the Grand Finals concluded the inaugural year of the event.
Accordingly, proving that PUBG Mobile is the world’s top mobile esport, the esport also showed it’s one of the top esports in general with the end of the season event. Almost reaching 4,000,000 peak viewership, the PMGC0 pushed the limits for competitive PUBG Mobile.
#2 – 2021 World Championship
Peak Viewership – 4,018,728
Average Viewers – 1,298,219
Offline
Prize Pool: $2,225,000
Coming in at number 2, the 2021 World Championship has earned a spot on our list. Specifically, with a record peak viewership of 4,000,000 viewers, thi s year had something special about it.
Although Worlds 2020 took place last year successfully, this year was even better. Uniting all the regions once again for some epic competition, this year we saw the rise of the LPL as EDward Gaming proved their skill, taking down former champions DWG KIA in an epic Grand Final.
#1 – Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore
Peak Viewership – 5,415,990
Average Viewers – 2,087,460
Offline
Prize Pool: $2,000,000
At the top of our list, we have the most jaw-dropping numbers of the year. Indeed, most didn’t see this coming, but the $2,000,000 Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore was insane.
Blowing the remainder of the industry out of the water, the peak viewership proved what we’ve been observing with competitive Free Fire all year long. Climaxing all the growth, a total of 5,415,990 peak viewers also writes a story to make Free Fire a strong competitor to PUBG Mobile.
With the year slowly concluding, we’re ready for some more discussion. Accordingly, over the past couple years, mobile esports has blown up exponentially and we’re all for it. Indeed, read on to find out our take on the Top 5 Mobile Esports 2021 to prepare ourselves for next year.
Top 5 Mobile Esports 2021 – Background
Prior to diving in, let’s set the stage. Specifically, the following list is entirely opinion-based, structured around some criteria such as events, viewership, structure, community activity and impact on the scene.
With that out of the way, it’s time to start the countdown.
#5 – Wild Rift: League of Legends
No, it’s not the biggest mobile esport out there. However, Wild Rift has impressed us this past year due to its immense growth recently.
Indeed, with the recently concluded Horizon Cup 2021, with $500,000, the esport celebrated one of its first Majors. Although viewership is still in its early days, it’s part of the process.
In the hands of Riot Games, one of the top industry names in esports, we’ll be keeping a close eye to observe much further expected growth as was the case for VALORANT.
With Wild Rift at number 5 due to its recent growth, who’s at number 4?
#4 – COD: Mobile – Top 5 Mobile Esports 2021
The number 4 spot was pretty tough – sitting between CoD: Mobile and Brawl Stars.
In this case, we simply had to go with CoD: Mobile due to the success the title has found this year. Most notably, this past year the Masters China Season 2 event saw a peak viewers of 1,985,208 which is incredibly impressive.
Indeed, the mobile esport is replicating the success of the PC title. Currently, the CoD Mobile World Championship (East and West) is taking place with a total of $2,000,000 on the line for competing teams.
Together with more consistent viewership, this esport is going places.
#3 – Arena of Valor/Kings of Glory
At third place, we’re showing off one of our featured esports – Arena of Valor.
Once again this season, the esport impressed with its incredible international events – both the World Cup and International Championship. Beyond those events, the seasonal splits in Spring and Fall both receive a great amount of viewership, with an average of 500,000 per event.
It’s this consistency, paired with a strong hold on the Asian region which makes this title the most popular competitive MOBA title on mobile to this day.
#2 – Garena Free Fire
Moving on, this list is probably getting more predictable. Indeed, first and second was always going to be between Free Fire and PUBG Mobile.
As you can tell, we’re awarding second place to Free Fire. This past year has been simply nuts for the esport, with the Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore setting industry records – 5,415,990 peak viewers at one go!
Beyond that, the few premier events were also very successful in the multiple regions that showcased the esport. Accordingly, the only reason that PUBG Mobile still edges out the title is due to having a better global spread, more consistent viewership and more consistent Tier 1 events.
#1 – PUBG Mobile
And we’ve arrived at our number 1 spot.
Here, PUBG Mobile has earned its spot for the past 2 years. With the ongoing PUBG Mobile Global Championship, it’s easy to see way.
Thanks to Tencent’s global approach, PUBG Mobile esports features a tonne of events – a lot to keep track of. Entertaining multiple regions, that only makes the international events that much more exciting.
Last year the PUBG Mobile Global Championship saw a peak viewership of almost 4,000,000 – we can’t wait to see what next year brings for the esport!
When we discuss competitive PUBG Mobile, one of the top esports events of the year is none other than the PUBG Mobile Global Championship. PMGC 2021 Finals Invitation Seed – Reserving a Deserved Spot
Yes, as you can tell from the Title, a team from India will win the Special Invitation towards the Grand Final in January.

Accordingly, the region was definitely upset when no seed was announced for the regular League Stage, neither West or East. The invite went public with the following Tweet:
