Six August 2020 Major – Revamped Format

Accordingly, with the Six August 2020 Major on the horizon, Ubisoft has made changes. In a recent press release, some specifics have had to be altered. Read on for the complete preview!

The Six August 2020 Major event acts as a conclusion to the first stage of each regional league. Indeed, the following four regions have their very own schedule:

  • Asia-Pacific: August 3-9th
  • Latin America: August 7-9th
  • North America: August 14-16th
  • Europe: August 20-23rd

As a concluding remark to Season 2020 – Stage 1, each region will have its own opportunity to compete. Apart from the slight modification in date, the biggest switch is the move to online. Regardless, the Tier 1 esport looks to remain unfazed.

The following is what Ubisoft has to say about the decision:

“As the health and well-being of our teams, developers, players, partners, and audience is our first priority, we have taken the decision to switch the format of the Six August 2020 Major from LAN to online.”

Besides, the $125,000 prize pool for each event is still to play for. Apart from that, a top 8 placing guarantees a specific number of Global Points.

G2 demolish Vitality in R6S European League Season 1

Yesterday, G2 matched up versus Vitality in the first stage of the first season of the Rainbow Six Siege European League. The match was expected to be very close, however G2 dominated the whole series and ended it 7-1 in their favor. Here is their winning moment:

What went wrong for Vitality?

There wasn’t any particular thing that made them lose, they simply played bad versus a very strong team and it cost them. FabiaN, Vitality’s In-game leader, had a dreadful 0.15 rating over the course of the series. However it is very harsh to blame the whole loss on one player, as the rest of the squad didn’t do much better either, having their highest rating being 0.86 by BiBoo.

What’s next for G2?

With this victory, G2 are in 4th place with a 2-2-1 score, just under Virtus.pro in 3rd place. The G2 roster has undergone a lot of changes over the past few months, and I think it’s fair to say that it is finally starting to work out. G2’s next match is tomorrow versus Tempra Esports, make sure you don’t miss the action by keeping yourself updated with all the latest esports news over at https://www.esportsguide.com/

Riot Games Reveals Champion Road Map – Six Every Year!

Despite the incredible coverage that Valorant is receiving as of right now, Riot Games continues to push further support for their main title of League of Legends. A new announcement from Riot Games has revealed a new ‘Champion Roadmap’ which looks to introduce new characters at a steady rate every year – read on to learn more!

Six: this is the official number Riot Games has released. Six heroes every year should cover every single role, while offering Mid-Laners two champions at a time. When asked as to why, Riot had the following to add:

Mid lane is the most popular role in League, and mid lane assassin players are looking for something quite different than mid lane mage players. Since so many people enjoy mages and assassins, we’re aiming to release a champion for both audiences every year.

Riot Games

Together with this statement, they confessed that the goal of six may not be reached every year though they’ll try their best to do so and continue serving the community.

So there you go – if you’re a fan of competitive League of Legends worried that Valorant would take the limelight, you can be certain that Riot will maintain focus amongst the multiple side-projects planned for the future.

Ubisoft announce the European League – All the Details!

Following the announcement of the North American Pro League, Ubisoft is beginning to release details for the other regions of Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. A month from now, the newly announced European League will be kicking off and it’s terrifically exciting – read on for more details!

The inaugural season will kick off with a total of 10 European teams: eight from the European Pro League Season XI and the remainder from the European Challenger League Season XI – the best of the best. Just like the other leagues, it’s all broken down into 3 stages, with each stage consisting of 9 playdays from which a top 4 will be sorted.

These four will earn a spot in the stage Six Major and some coveted Global Standings. Accumulating these points are essential to qualifying for the Six Invitational at the end.

Following each stage, the European League Rankings are refreshed and everybody will start all over again. However, the rankings are far from forgotten as in November the ranking from each Stage will be considered when calculating the Final Rankings of the Season. The top 4 will have the chance to become the European Champion while the lower half fight off the notion of falling to the European Challenger League or entering the Relegation Playoffs.

Following this, the best teams from each region will be invited to the Six Invitational, though details on that are yet to be announced for each league. Note that like all the other regions, 2020 will be an exception for the proposed format as it’s already May, so only two stages of the competition will be played out.

Do note that the aforementioned European Challenger League will be offering up-and-coming competition a chance to climb to the top through National Leagues – by the end of this first season, 12 teams will reach the European Challenger League to fight for that single spot into the European League.

Virtus Pro Enter Rainbow Six Siege with forZe esports Roster!

As competitive Rainbow Six Siege continues to grow and develop, maintaining its newly stated Tier 1 status as an esport, larger organizations are beginning to stick their fingers in the pie. Very recently, Virtus Pro has joined the scene with an exciting signing of the ex-forZe eSports roster.

Well-known for their involvement in CS:GO, R6S becomes their fifth entry as an esports organization, and it looks promising. The forZe roster has a reputable presence as a strong contender, with good Qualifier results and Challenger League placings, failing to really make an impact on the highest level of R6S although consistently being there. Virtus Pro looks to take them there while also providing content to showcase the new team, as listed below:

  • Artem “Shokwave” Simakov
  • Artem “wTg” Morozov
  • Alan “Rask” Ali
  • Pavel “p4sh4” Kosenko
  • Pavel ” Amision” Chebatkov
  • Kerim “Toda” Musaev (coach)
  • Andrey “Andreezy” Bavian (analyst)

“We have watched the discipline development for a long time and looked at existing rosters from different regions. Finally, we settled on forZe eSports players: we had a mutual interest with the players, and the organization was ready to conclude a transfer deal.

We have signed long-term contracts and intend to play with the good perspectives in this field. Virtus.pro we are happy to welcome the fans of Rainbow Six Siege and will do our best to please you with victories and great content in the coming seasons.”

– Sergey Glamazda, Virtus Pro GM

As everyone grows anxious to observe the team at the Russian Major League Season 4 (May 23-24), it would surprise me if more international organization begin to recognize competitive Rainbow Six Siege as an attractive investment.
