It’s been a long and exciting season for competitive Rainbow Six Siege. Indeed, split into multiple regional leagues, Europe is one of the most popular. Event Background

Following the conclusion of the final stage of competition – Stage 3, we’re ready to conclude everything. Note that at Stage 3, we had the top 10 teams in Europe competing for the final four seeds for the Finals event.

Organized by Ubisoft and FACEIT, the European League 2021 Finals looks to bring the top 4 teams from the season to an offline venue. Now, with $112,000 on the line and following the recent Six Major, this is the best way to end the calendar year and season.

Accordingly, the event will run from 11th December all the way to the 19th December. Below are the four teams listed:

  • BDS Esport
  • Team Empire
  • Natus Vincere
  • G2 Esports

Read on as we dive into the remaining details.

Format

With regards to format, it’s very simple. Especially with only 4 teams on the line, Ubisoft aren’t complicating anything here.

Accordingly, we’ll be enjoying a Single-Elimination bracket. For those unaware, a single-elimination bracket means that teams only have one lifeline – you lose and you’re out of the event. Here’s how the bracket is seeded so far:

  • BDS Esport vs G2 Esports
  • Team Empire vs NAVI

Each match will be a BO3 except for the Grand Final, which will be a BO5.

However, do note that before the Grand Final, there will be an additional game to determine a third place team.

Schedule for the European League 2021 Finals R6S

Indeed, due to how short this event is, we’ll be listing the entire schedule below:

December 11th 2021

  • BDS Esport vs G2 Esports (17:00 CET)
  • Team Empire vs NAVI (14:00 CET)

December 19th 2021

  • Third Place Match (13:00 CET)
  • Grand Final (16:00 CET)

Spreading the competition across two match days, it’s short and simple.

Predictions

Rainbow Six Siege Tips and Tricks

It’s been a very exciting season, and now we’re going to officially list the top 4 teams in all of Europe. How can we predict the winner here?

First, we’ll see how the 4 teams placed at the Six Sweden Major 2021:

  • 5-8th – BDS Esport
  • 9-12th – Team Empire

Unfortunately, G2 and NAVI failed to qualify for this final Major.

However, qualification for this event considered year-long performances, where G2 Esports and NAVI were dominant in Stage 1 and Stage 2.

Yet, recency bias is very important with regards to event predictions. Bearing this in mind, we’d like to favour the likes of BDS Esport and Team Empire, especially as they got some extra practice at the international event.

Between the two teams, it’s likely that BDS Esport will come out on top considering the head-to-head record of the teams.

Regardless, we can’t wait to see the highest level of European competition for Rainbow Six Siege.

State of the Community: Rainbow Six Siege Majors Not Succeeding?

In our most recent quarterly Esports Tier List, we saw a few changes rock the system. One esport we were discussing in the featured discussion was in fact Rainbow Six Siege. Indeed, ever since the Six Invitational in February, the scene has been rather quiet and that has us wondering – what’s going on? Read on as we discuss the current state of the Rainbow Six Siege Majors!

Starting at the Six Invitational – A Respectable High Point

Canadian R6
Credits: Ubisoft

We’ll start our discussing by looking at last season, which concluded with the Six Invitational in May earlier this year. Accordingly, here we witnessed the scene show off an average performance in terms of viewership. Here’s how this year’s Six Invitational compared to previous years:

  • 2019 Six Invitational – Peak Viewers 315,240
  • 2020 Six Invitational – Peak Viewers 303,155
  • 2021 Six Invitational – Peak Viewers 306,494

As you can see, although a great event, it took a step back from 2019. However, considering that the past season involved online competition only, it wasn’t too bad.

In this past season also, the merging of North America and Canada Leagues was also somewhat concerning. Anyways, let’s take a look at the events following the Invitational to see how this season has been going.

Checking the Stages Since – Regional Leagues Lacking?

NorthAmericanLeagueR

So, how do we check out how the regional leagues have been performing? Well, heading back to online competition, everything actually went off to a great start with Stage 1 as you can see below:

  • NAL 2021 Season Stage 1 – Peak Viewers 114,995, Average Viewers 67,452
  • European League 2021 Stage 1 – Peak Viewers 121,925, Average Viewers 71,724

However, as the season has dragged on into Stage 2 and Stage 3 though, viewership has declined slghtly, though this could be expected due to to excitement levels lowering. Here are a few statistics so far from this season:

  • Brasileriao 2021 Stage 3 – Peak Viewers 61,647, Average Viewers 29,867
  • Copa Elite Six Season 2021: Stage 3 – Peak Viewers 45,078, Average Viewers 22,800
  • APAC League 2021 Playoffs Stage 3 – Peak Viewers 32,549, Average Viewers 18,762
  • European League 2021 Stage 3 – Peak Viewers 51,443, Average Viewers 34,962
  • NAL 2021 Season Stage 3 – Peak Viewers 36,866, Average Viewers 24,778
Astralis Enters R6S

Indeed, this season we’ve also witnessed the rise of popularity in Brazil and South America.

Overall, we’re satisfied with the regional league performances of Stage 1, but Stage 3 numbers need to be improved considering the prize on the line.

Rainbow Six Siege Majors – Missing the Mark

However, our main concern is considering the the seasonal majors. Unlike the Six Invitational, the Majors held so far at the end of each Stage have presented an underwhelming viewership:

  • Six Mexico Major 2021 – Peak Viewers 137,245, Average Viewers 86,874
  • Six Sweden Major 2021 – Peak Viewers 100,884, Average Viewers 64,056
Six Mexico Major 2021
Credits: Six Mexico Major

For starts, the Mexico Major was only the 9th most viewed event ever, and Sweden was even worse. That’s honestly what triggered this featured discussion – why are the Majors not yielding viewerhip?

Perhaps it could be the timing of the event. Taking place with other events such as The International (Dota 2) and Worlds 2021 (League of Legends), it likely failed to stick out.

Otherwise, Rainbow Six Siege is also at a critical point where it’s beginning to age. This isn’t an issue if Ubisoft keeps pushing new content and keeps the competition fresh with new events. We look forward to the numbers for Majors to jump back up in time for our next Esports Tier List!

  1. Spacestation Gaming
  2. TSM
  3. Susquehanna Soniqs
  4. DarkZero Esports
  5. Disrupt Gaming

Then, at the following Six Mexico Major, it no team really managed to impress. Ultimately, Spacestation and DarkZero Esports only managed a 5-8th finish. Accordignly, heading into this season, it’s likely that Spacestation and TSM will keep packing the heat.

Moving over to Europe, we’ll be doing something similar – let’s take a look at how Stage 2 went:

  1. Team Empire
  2. G2 Esports
  3. Natus Vincere
  4. BDS Esport
  5. Team Vitality

Overall, the European competition seems to be going at it at a higher level of intensity. Indeed, it was at the Six Major that the likes of Team Empire managed to impress and land a second place finish, while BDS Esport jumped up to 3-4th.
