At the Playoffs, the Single Elimination Bracket will consists of BO3 matches and should separate the top tier competition. Reaching the grand final involves going at it in a head-to-head BO5 epic showdown for regional dominance.

Predictions for the Copa Elite Six Stage 2

For predictions, let’s dial it back to the Six Invitational. With $3,000,000, it acted once again as the pinnacle event of the year for competitive Rainbow Six Siege. It was also here that South America, in particular Brazil, swept the floor with the other regions. Accordingly, the top 3 teams all hailed from this region – Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Liquid and MIBR.

Heading into this regional event, it’s an incredibly tight battle between the top teams. As of right now, the top 3 teams in the Brasilian Stage 2 event are all tied at 9 wins and 32 points. Although not all the teams for the event are confirmed and the current standings are subject to change, the idea of an unclear winner is arguable.

However, if one team were to be selected as the favourite, it would naturally be Ninjas in Pyjamas after being crowned victors at the biggest event of the year, followed by Team Liquid and then FaZe Clan. Otherwise, the likes of MIBR are nowhere to be found as they haven’t been performing up to par.

XSET parting ways with Drip on R6 Squad

XSET has just announced that they are parting ways with Drip, a player that is part of their RainbowSix lineup. Here is their announcement:

XSET parting ways with Drip – Why?

In the twitlonger Drip released, he states that there are multiple reasons for his departure from XSET. He says that he could name all of the reasons, but the main point is that he has not been enjoying the game at all. In addition to this, he wishes to go back to school for the upcoming fall semester and live a normal life. This seems like yet another case of burnout from a top player, much like we had with Gla1ve as well as Olofmeister in 2020.

Here’s the full twitlonger from Drip stating his reasons for stepping down:

What now?

As stated in the announcement, due to this roster change, their main coach Jarvis will be filling in the role for the time being. The squad will stay as is for Stage 2 of the North American League 2021.

We do not know when we’ll see a glimpse of Drip in esports once again, however, with his amount of talent, it’s inevitable that he’ll return sometime in the future.

TrainHard eSport Shutting down

Popular French organisation TrainHard eSport has announced that the org is shutting down. Here is their announcement:

TrainHard eSport Shutting down – Why?

As mentioned in the statement above, the main reason for their departure is due to economical reasons. They have not disclosed the exact details, but we can expect that it was because of the org not receiving substantial income from the prize pools.

What’s weird is that they announced the shutting down of their operations just hours before their RainbowSix match in the European League. On the 28th of June, the team was scheduled to take on Natus Vincere and it wasn’t made public if they would be able to participate in the match due to being ex-TrainHard.

However, the team was then allowed to take part, but unfortunately they were taken down 7-2 by the NAVI lineup. ex-TrainHard is currently ranked at 8th in the Stage 2 of the European League, and they’ve got plenty more games to play out.

What now?

Before their announcement, TrainHard eSport had teams in RainbowSix, Fortnite, Rocket League, as well as Call of Duty. Now due to this disband, these teams are left homeless, with no idea what’s coming for them. Hopefully these talented players manage to find a new home and a welcoming team for the future.

G2 bringing on Hungry and Jonka for RainbowSix

European org G2 have announced that they are bringing on Hungry and Jonka for their RainbowSix squad. Here is their announcement:

G2 bringing on Hungry and Jonka for RainbowSix – Who did they pick up?

G2’s newest additions are Hungry and Jonka, 2 talented players from Germany. Hungry started his career in 2017 with Planetkey Dynamics, and has later represented teams like Mock-it Esports, PENTA and later on Team Vitality. On the other hand, 21-year-old Jonas “Jonka” Kaczmarzyk kicked it all off in 2019 with a mix team that were looking for an org. He then played for MnM Gaming, swapped over to CR4ZY, and later re-joined MnM. Despite his limited experience he’s shown that he has what it takes to play top tier R6 Siege, and that’s exactly why G2 have brought him on.

Here are some of their best achievements:

Hungry:

  • 9th-12th at the Six Invitational 2019 – 13th February 2019 – $40,000
  • 4th at Pro League Season 9 Europe – 26th April 2019 – $15,500

Jonka:

  • 3rd in European League 2020 – Relegation – 16th January 2021 – $12,077
  • 1st at UK & Ireland Nationals Season 1 – 30th August 2020 – $10,013

What’s next?

Obviously with this roster change, former players Kantoraketti and UUNO have been benched. Unfortunately for these players, options are very limited, but we can expect to see them in the upcoming split.

European organisation Acend has opted to reveal its new R6 (RainbowSix) lineup. Here is their announcement:

Acend Reveal New R6 lineup – Who did they sign?

The European org have brought on 4 French players from the ‘SEEK ORG’ roster. They’ve also signed Yannis “Jeya” Calibeaux, who used to play for 3DOTS and DizLown Esport. To finalize the squad, the team has picked up coach BiOs, former coach of Team Vitality, Supremacy, and Penta Sports. It’s going to be interesting to see this mixture of French players united as one under this new organisation. Their upcoming event will be the 6 French League, set to take place between June and August. Acend and 7 other French teams will fight it all for a spot in the Season 2 Challenger League

This is the full Acend Rainbow Six lineup:

Players:

  • Julian “Enemy” Blin
  • Jean “RevaN” Prudenti
  • Romain “EiZ” Martin
  • Maxime “Meloo” Cahagnet
  • Yannis “Jeya” Calibeaux

Coach:

  • Arnaud “BiOs” Billaudel

Acend’s emergence

With this roster acquisition, Acend Club are now fielding teams in 2 esport titles, VALORANT and Rainbow Six. While it’s still the beginning stages for this new organisation, they’ve certainly impacted the European esports scene. Their biggest success was winning the Stage 1 Masters event for VALORANT. This immediately put them on the radar, and we cannot wait to see what they’ll accomplish in the rest of 2021!

Keenan and Pacbull joining Team Secret Rainbow6

It has been announced that Keenan and Pacbull are joining Team Secret for Rainbow6. Here is their announcement:

Keenan and Pacbull joining Team Secret Rainbow6 – Who are they?

Keenan

22-year-old Keenan “Keenan” Dunne is a professional Rainbow6 Siege player from Ireland. He started competing in R6 back in 2019 with T3H Esports, and then went on to play for other teams. Most notably: Nefarious, Fierce Esports, Samsung Morning Stars, and most recently MACKO Esports. He’s still very new to the scene, but now he’s gotten an excellent opportunity to showcase his abilities with this European roster.

Pacbull

On the other hand British pro player Peter “pacbull” Bull is a bit more experienced, despite his younger age. He’s played for MnM Gaming, CR4ZY, DIVIZON, Team Seccret, Chaos Esports Club, and now he’s returned back to Team Secret. The last time he was with the team he only stayed there for a couple of months, getting a solid result in the European League 2020 Stage 2. There, he and the team got 6th place, grabbing $3,350 of the prize money. Now he’s looking toward a better opportunity to redeem himself, and help Team Secret reach new heights in R6 Esports.

What about the remaining players?

Obviously for Keenan and Pacbull to join the team, the org had to make some tough decisions. Hence why Drvn was released, and Prano was benched from the team. Overall, Team Secret hasn’t been getting the best results. Just recently, the team got 10th place in the first stage of the European League 2021. Certainly not something that they desired, but hopefully now with a revamped and stronger roster, the team can improve its results.

DarkZero Roster Change – Mint Coaching and BC Playing!

Following the dominance demonstrated by the Brazilian teams at the recent Six Invitational 2021, other teams are responding. A prime example is DarkZero, who have had a lacklustre season so far, as they exited the event of the year quite early. Accordingly, the DarkZero Roster Change is live and has got everyone talking – let’s dive in!

DarkZero Roster Change – Is This The Final Change?

In this publicly announced change, it’s clear that DarkZero is focusing on rewiring the coaching staff of the roster. Basically, it’s a switch, with the former coach of Brandon “BC” Carr jumping onto the active roster, while player Kyle “Mint” Lander will be taking his place.

Here’s how they announced the news over on Twitter:

And no, this is definitely not the final change for this roster. Quite obviously, the team is missing a final piece in its active roster, and this change looks to build towards it. Here’s the current active roster:

  • Paul “Hyper” Kontopanagiotis
  • Tyler “Ecl9pse” McMullin
  • Nick “njr” Rapier
  • Brandon “BC” Carr

Indeed, the team is currently fishing for the final piece to the puzzle – and who knows, maybe this team could reap some former glory in the North American region?

Skys retiring from Rainbow6 Siege

Former DarkZero Esports player Skys has announced that he is retiring from Rainbow6 Siege. Here is his announcement:

Skys retiring from Rainbow6 Siege – Why?

In his statement, Skys does not mention the exact reason that led to his retirement. However, he does address the fact that he has spent the past 6 years thinking solely about R6. Now he reveals that it’s time for him to move on, and do other things. Obviously after playing a game for so long, it tends to become boring and un-enjoyable, and that seems like it’s the case with Skys.

Here are some of his best achievements in R6:

  • 3rd-4th in Six Invitational 2019 – 16th February 2019 – $160,000
  • 5th-6th at Six Invitational 2020 – 14th February 2020 – $150,000
  • 1st in Six August 2020 Major – North America – 16th August 2020 – $62,500

What’s next for him?

With regards to his future, Skys says that for the time being, he will put his focus on streaming. He doesn’t know as of right now on what he will do as a backup, but he’s ready to try multiple things. Whether it be content creation, or maybe pursuing an esports career in another game.

Six Invitational Viewership – Beating Last Year’s Live Event

For those unaware, last week the Six Invitational concluded as the largest event of the year for Rainbow Six Siege. Bearing this in mind, viewership and general success is essential for an event like this. How do we determine success? We’ll do this by comparing it to last year.

Six Invitational 2021 Details

Last year, the Six Invitational 2020 was held offline in front of a crowd before the global crisis hit. Here are the numbers it achieved thanks to Esports Charts:

  • Peak Viewership – 303,155
  • Average Viewers – 130.358

Now, moving on to this year, the event was played offline but with no crowd. Did that result in any difference or disadvantage? It doesn’t seem so, as the numbers would once again reveal:

  • Peak Viewership – 306,494
  • Average Viewers – 156,548
