As VALORANT continues to grow on an international scale, upcoming events are looking for new and exciting venues. Accordingly, VALORANT Masters 2023 has already announced some details – we’re heading to Tokyo!
VALORANT Masters 2023 – An Exciting Venue
For those unaware, the first international event of the year will take place at Sao Paolo, Brazil, in a sort of ‘kick-off’ event to start the season.
Following this event, there’s the second international event of the 2023 VALORANT Champions Tour. Related to this, we’re heading to Japan!
Here’s a comment from Riot Games on the matter:
As part of our goal to bring our sport to new audiences around the world, we couldn’t think of a better place to bring one of the tentpole events of the 2023 VCT. Over the past twelve months the Japanese VALORANT community has grown by leaps and bounds, with their displays of fandom across all types of events.
Our teams have been working closely to build a new experience that will thrill fans around the world and we can’t wait to share what we have in store.
Accordingly, there are some further details. Indeed, this event will take place in June after the first international League split. This event will also serve as essential to qualify for Champions next year!
Indeed, as competitive VALORANT prepares for the start of the Regional Leagues next year, multiple rosters are being finalized. Accordingly, the Gen.G VALORANT Roster 2023 is making another change – read on to learn more below!
Gen.G VALORANT Roster 2023 – Leaving From October
Well, this change is certainly strange. For those unaware, the Gen.G VALORANT Roster built itself up back in October of this year, signing multiple players.
One such player was the likes of kANG “iNTRO” Seung-gyun. Indeed, signed from REJECT back in October, he was meant to be an exciting part of this roster.
However, it seems he will be parting ways with this roster before the season event starts.
Kim “Meteor” Tae-O
Lee “k1Ng” Seung-won
Yu “TS” Tae-seok
Yeom “eKo” Wang-ryong
Kim “Secret” Ha-jin
Sadly, the reason for his departure has not been made clear. Indeed, sitting on the bench could have been an option which seems to have not been considered.
Otherwise, we’re not sure what the future holds for the young player.
With regards to Gen.G, they’ll continue preparing for the Regional Leagues kicking off in March. Seated in APAC, Gen.G have a tall order in order to battle their rivals.
Over the next year, competitive VALORANT will be entering a new era of play. Accordingly, with the competition becoming bigger than ever, so will the venues. Bearing this in mind, Riot Games VALORANT 2023 have a new venue planned for the incoming season!
Riot Games VALORANT 2023 – Coming March 2023
For those unaware, next year involves an international league divided into multiple regions.
Indeed, following the opening Sao Paolo Kickoff with all teams, things become regional. Specifically, 10 regional teams will compete in the EMEA district.
Bearing this in mind, Riot Games is setting up a new studio at the Messe Berlin Charlottenburg. Conveniently, this studio will be right across from Riot Games’ LEC studio. Once again, this is part of Riot’s efforts to make VALORANT unique from League of Legends.
This new studio will be used to host the VCT EMEA competition – which will inolve the following format:
Single Round Robin Format
Double Elimination Bracket
Over 8 weeks of competition will see the top teams in Europe go head to head. Once complete, only the best will move on to the Masters Event in June, followed by Last Chance Qualifier in July and Champions in August.
It’s looking to be an awesome season for competitive VALORANT!
Indeed, it was rather surprising that G2 Esports VALORANT 2022 would not involve participation in the VCT Partner League. Accordingly, now competing in the Ascendant series, they’ve put together an impressive roster. Read on to learn more about the team below!
G2 Esports VALORANT 2022 – On a Revenge Tour
Heading into this next season, this formerly European team decided to shift into an international type of team. Initially, this involved disbanding the entire roster.
Announced earlier today, G2 Esports has a completely new look – take a look at the signed team below:
Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan
Michael “dapr” Gulino
Maxim “wippie” Shepelev
Erik “penny” Penny
“OXY”
As you’ll imagine, there are some two high profile players. Specifically, the likes of “ShahZaM” and “dapr” from the formerly and internationally successful Sentinels team.
Naturally, a lot has changed since back then, and they’ll have to work hard to prove themselves and try land a spot in the next international event.
Otherwise, the legacy of G2 Esports has always been a team climbing at the top of the ladder:
While the wait for the return of the VALORANT Champions Tour continues, competition is still here to entertain. Accordingly, Red Bull is taking the opportunity to host some third party events – continuing the Red Bull Home Ground series of events. Bearing this in mind, the third event is taking place later this week: read on to learn How to Watch this exciting event below!
Event Background
Organized by Red Bull in tandem with Riot Games, the off-season event will run from 9th December to 11th December. Considering the $100,000 on the line, some of the best teams in the world, of which most are teams competing in the VCT 2023, are listed below:
Team Liquid
Team Vitality
FOKUS
100 Thieves
KRU Esports
Cloud9
Team Heretics
FUT Esports – Turkish Qualifier
Compete on Patch 5.10, teams will be competing offline at the Victoria Warehouse, with simply the prize up for grabs, no points of any kind.
As you can imagine, this event will offer some useful insight into these teams and how they look to rank ahead of the season next year.
Format
With regards to the format, there are two stages of competition.
Starting with the Group Stage, the 8 teams have been randomly drawn into two groups of 4. Within these single elimination format teams, only the top 3 will progress to the Playoffs, with each match being BO3.
Simply put, seeding into Playoffs will involve having to win a total of 2 series – not doing so results in that team being eliminated.
Here are the groups listed below:
A: Cloud9, Team Vitality, FOKUS, KRU Esports
B: Team Heretics, FUT Esports, 100 Thieves, Team Liquid
Following this stage, there’ll only be 6 teams left. Seeded into a single-elimination bracket, all matches will be BO3, concluding in a BO5 Grand Final.
For those unaware, a single elimination bracket translates to teams only having one lifeline in the competition – one loss results in elimination from the competition, winning is the only way forward.

Predictions here are rather tough. as not all teams have been active.
For example, Team Heretics managed to place 2nd at the recent VALORANT India Invitational two weeks ago, while a team such as 100 Thieves has not competed since VALORANT Champions.
VALORANT Game Update 5.12 has hit the game rather significantly. Accordingly, with multiple tweaks and changes, one notable one is the featuring of a new game mode. Specifically, Riot Games is finally launching a fast-paced regular mode – read on to learn more below!
VALORANT Game Update 5.12 – It Only Took Two Years
Named ‘SwiftPlay’, the beta is now live from December 6th 2022 to January 10th 2023.
Overall, Riot is testing out a new ‘standard 5v5 unrated mode, but condensed’ – here are the rules below:
First to 5 rounds, each half is 4 rounds
Set credit amounts granted at the start of the round, increasing with each round
Weapon and Credit carry over to the next round
2 Ult points granted at the start of each half
Sudden death overtime
Match time is approximately 15 minutes
Warming up for ranked now has multiple avenues.
After so many years of asking, the community now has a legitimate way to practice for competitive which does not involve a commitment of at least 45 minutes.
Otherwise, this is only one of many changes which are shaking the meta in VALORANT Patch 5.12
Indeed, over the past two years, the VALORANT meta has constantly changed. Accordingly, after Jett, Chamber has been dominating the scene as a hugely influential agent. However, with VALORANT Patch 5.12, it looks like the character’s reign is coming to an end.
VALORANT Patch 5.12 – Just Like Jett
Back at VALORANT Champions, Chamber had a ridiculous pick rate of 67% overall.
Finally with this upcoming patch, Riot Games is going to nerf Chamber one last time after multiple attempts.
Specifically, the VALORANT Patch 5.12 will involve the following changes for Jett:
Headhunter (Q) – after 2nd bullet, accuracy reduction to make spamming less effective
Rendezvous (E) – reduced distance, no height restriction, increased weapon equip time, no cooldown after destruction
Trademark (C) – trap is now range restricted, can be recalled without line of sight, health increased
Tour De Force (X) – reduction in fire rate by 57.5%
Slow (Trademark and Tour De Force) – reduced duration
It seems that finally, Chamber will be only good for what he’s designed to do – being a site anchor, being a Sentinel.
More intelligent and careful use of Chamber’s utility adds tactics and makes him much less effective on offense. We can’t wait to see how this changes up the meta.
Throughout the season, esports organizers are always keen for feedback from the community. Accordingly, Riot Games hopes to improve the VALORANT Game Changers EMEA scene. Indeed, with this new format for 2023, it seems that the community is getting what they wanted!
VALORANT Game Changers EMEA – Exciting Changes
Formerly, VCT Game Changers Europe used to involve one tier of competition. Accordingly, the main change heading into next season is the introduction of tiered competition:
#1 – GC Championship
#2 – VCT Game Changers EMEA
#3 – VCT Game Changers Contenders
#4 – VCT Game Changers EMEA: Academy + Emergents
Here are some comments from Riot Games:
The foundation of Game Changers EMEA 2023 is going to be dedicated to creating opportunities for individual players to gain more knowledge and consistent competitive training experience in a community setting.
The inaugural VCT Game Changers EMEA: Emergents will offer budding Radiants a chance to shine via an in-house competitive Discord community complete with a leaderboard and rewards.

DWG KIA VALORANT Roster 2023 – A Clean Start
For those unaware, DWG KIA has been a part of competitive VALORANT in the APAC region for a while now. Although failing to make a huge impact internationally, they have big plans for the international league next year.
Heading into this upcoming season, they’ve made some changes to the roster. Indeed, by signing two new players, the following roster is ready to compete:
Jeong “Esperanza” Jin-cheol
Park “exy” Geun-cheol
