CLG (Counter-Logic Gaming) have announced that they are parting ways with Griffin, one of their members of their League of Legends academy team. Here is their announcement:
CLG parting ways with Griffin – What happened?
Griffin joined CLG back in 2018 as part of their academy team. 7 months after joining, he got promoted to the main lineup of the LCS squad. He helped the team reach 3rd place in the Summer 2019 split, but unfortunately that was their only solid result. After a disappointing ride with the main team, a demotion awaited him back on the Academy roster.
Griffin’s Golden Opportunity
At the start of the season, Griffin had the opportunity to temporarily replace Broxah until his visa got accepted. Despite so much potential, the CLG roster still lacked something which made their performance extremely poor. During Griffin’s stand-in period, the team sat in 9th with a 1-5 score line, having their single win versus the Golden Guardians.
What’s next for Griffin and CLG?
CLG’s Academy team are now trying out Keel as their replacement jungler for the time being. Whereas Griffin is currently looking for a new home, whether it be in an LCS team, or an academy team.
