Former Fortnite pro player Cloakzy has announced on his stream that he is mutually parting ways with FaZe Clan after 4 years under their brand. Here is his announcement:
Who is Cloakzy?
Dennis “cloakzy” Lepore is a 26-year-old esports athlete who stunned the world during his time in the competitive Fortnite scene. In June of 2019 he announced his retirement and focused on full-time streaming and creating content.
Here are some of his biggest achievements in Fortnite:
- 1st at Fortnite Fall Skirmish: Week 6 – TwitchCon Finals – 28th October 2018 – $255,000
- 2nd in Fortnite Summer Skirmish: Week 2 – North America – 20th July 2018 – $48,000
- 9th in Fortnite World Cup Finals – Celebrity Pro-Am – 26th July 2019 – $20,000
Cloakzy parting ways with FaZe Clan – Why is this big news?
The main storyline of this entire situation happened all in June 2019, where Cloakzy tried his best to get away from the FaZe organization. Despite all his tries, FaZe denied any sort of contract buyout or method of free agency, and kept him under his 4-year contract, which he signed in 2017. Now, finally, Cloakzy can return to compete in any game he wishes, and hopefully find a new home soon.
Along with his announcement, he also took to twitter to formally apologize to FaZe Clan, for all the negative comments he had said in the past:
In his announcement he goes to say that he doesn’t have an idea on which game to focus on next when it comes to competition. However, one can identify that Cloakzy will either pursue a career in Warzone, VALORANT or even return to Fortnite. We’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out in the end, but until then… Be sure to visit www.esportsguide.com for more esports news!
