Cloud9 have opted to announce their League of Legends academy roster heading into the 2021 season. Here is their announcement:
Cloud9 announce academy roster – What does the squad consist of?
Surprisingly, this new Cloud9 Academy roster, will not feature any North American players. The team currently consists of 2 Canadian players, and 3 Australian players. Here they are below:
Up in the role above we have a familiar face, as Darshan (also known as ZionSpartan) will be replacing Fudge (due to promotion) in the top lane.
In the Jungle we have Australian player ShernFire. He has been competing in League of Legends since 2014 and will be trying his best to show that he has what it takes in North America.
In the Mid-lane we have Jouhan “Copy” Pathmanathan, which is a product of the 100 Thieves Next program. With 100T he has gained loads of experience, and will be looking to showcase that with this brand new C9 roster.
As an ADC we have Calvin “K1ng” Truong, which has also been competing since 2014. He has spent the majority of his career in the OCE region, however he will be doing his best in the LCS academy league for the 2021 season.
Lastly, as Support, Cloud9 have acquired Australian rookie player Jonah “Isles” Rosario. He has had exceptional performances with Legacy Esports, especially during the 2020 World Championship, and will certainly be able to replicate his performance with this Cloud9 squad.
Community reactions
Many have said that this is the most stacked academy roster North America has ever seen. With an experienced player like Darshan, and an up-and-coming support player like Isles, the team is destined for success, and we canโt wait to see this team competing in the season to come.
that's a first place roster
