Currently, competitive Dota 2 is celebrating the return of offline events with the ONE Singapore event ongoing. Yet, to add more fire, Epic Esports have just come out with an exciting announcement. Following a two year hiatus, the Dota 2 Champions League is back this year! Here are the details.
Dota 2 Champions League – Action in April
Epic Esports know how to host Dota 2, with last year’s OMEGA League being a great success. Now, at least 5 events are planned for this new series, partnered with organizers GRID.
The organizers have made it known that the first tournament will kick off from 5-12th April for a total of $25,000. While it’s not the biggest prize pool in the world, the competitive community is glad for the added content to enjoy.
So far, the official announcement has revealed some direct invites for the group and play-off stage:
- Group Stage: Brame, Team Unique, Nemiga, Fantastic Five, Team Empire, LevelUP, Trident, Ghost FROGS, Prosit Esli, KKD, Cascade
- Play-off Stage: Vikin.gg, Team Spirit, High coast, Hellraisers
The remaining teams will qualify through the open qualifiers hosted on April 3-4th – only 5 teams are left to be occupied.
All-in-all, March will be an incredible month for competitive Dota 2.
