Epic Games announce new format for FNCS Chapter 2 Season 6
Open Qualifiers
As stated by the new format, there will be 3 weeks of open qualifiers, having 4 rounds each week. The teams of trios battle it out each round to try and make it into the 4th qualifier. There, the top 3 trios get a spot in the finals at the end of the season. Those who do not make it have the option to take another shot at it in the next open qualifier. Points are given out at the very end of each qualifier and depend on the team’s placement for that overall round.
Semi-Finals
In the Semi-Finals, the top 99 trios from the qualifiers are invited. They split into 3 different groups (called heats) and take each other on for 6 straight rounds. Then after all 6 rounds conclude, the top 6 teams of each heat, head into the Grand Finals. As a bonus, teams that place between 7th and 17th get a spot into the Reboot round.
Reboot Round
In this type of round, the main thing that counts is securing the victory royale. In total, 3 games play out, meaning that the 3 teams that win a game advance onto the Grand Finals. Obviously, if a team wins, they drop from the playing pool during the Reboot round.
Grand Finals
As stated by Epic, the Grand Finals will play out between the 29th and 30th of May 2021. The event will go on for 2 consecutive days having 6 games each day for a total of 12 rounds in total. The team with the highest points after all those rounds is declared Chapter 2 Season 6 champions.
