Back in March, Astralis announced that they will be expanding their roster to 6 players by adding es3tag to their main squad. The main purpose of the addition was due to prioritization of their players’ health. Since then both Gla1ve and Xyp9x have taken leave from CS:GO which meant that JUGi and es3tag will play in their stead.
Why has es3tag joined Astralis so late?
However due to es3tag’s contract he was unavailable to join the roster earlier, however yesterday he was freed from his previous contract and signed by Astralis. Here are a few words from es3tag describing how exciting he is to represent Astralis in future matches:
How will he contribute to the roster?
Es3tag is well known for his fragging power and precise aim, not to mention his experience as a professional player. However due to Astralis’ in-game leader Gla1ve currently on break, is this the right roster move for the squad? Or will this be another one-off swap until they get their main players back in shape?
It will surely be exciting to see how the danish lineup adapts to the new changes and how they will perform after a few weeks of practice. Astralis’ next event is ESL Cologne which is set to start in August, which means that they should be ready to take on the best that Europe has to offer, and return to that number 1 spot.
