The ESIC (Esports Integrity Commision) has announced that it will be handing out match-fixing bans to 7 players. Here is their official statement:
Why are their receiving bans?
The ESIC alongside ESEA have been investigating multiple cases of breaches in the Anti-Corruption code of the MDL (Mountain Dew League). With this investigation, they found that 7 professional CS:GO players have placed bets on the league (MDL) and in other CS:GO matches. Which is a clear breach of both the ESEA rules and ESIC Code.

Match-Fixing is an ongoing issue in esports, especially CS:GO. Hopefully with these recent bans and investigations players become less prone to match-fixing, and play in a healthy esports environment.
