And what do you know? Indeed, right after we preview some events for summer, Valve announce a new event for competitive Dota 2. Accordingly, the ESL ONE Summer 2021 will fit right into the schedule of the Dota Pro Circuit, leaving time for The International. Let’s see what’s been announced!
ESL ONE Summer 2021 – The Details
- Date: June 16-20th – qualifiers kicking off as early as May 25th
- Teams: 12 of the best teams in the world
- Venue: this will be an online event
- Prize pool: $400,000
As outlined above, this event is nearer than you think. In terms of timing, this event is targeted to take place right after the Dota Pro Circuit regional leagues have completed. Specifically, it will follow the WePlay Esports AniMajor kicking off on June 2nd.
Indeed, you can be sure that here at esportsguide we’ll be providing extensive coverage over the event as we draw nearer. Also, it’s likely that this event will offer many teams an opportunity to earn some final Dota Pro Circuit points prior to the main event – The International.
As a reminder, we’re also still awaiting more details for The International, though it’s likely the event will take place in late summer – August to September.
