eUnited parts ways with WondaMike

News

eUnited have just announced that they are immediately parting ways with WondaMike. Here is their video announcement:

Who is WondaMike?

Michael “WondaMike” Santoriello is 16 years of age, and kicked off his astonishing career in Rocket League last year. He first started with team Absolute Leverage, and then moved on to represent the Charlotte Phoenix roster as a stand-in. Then in July he was offered a permanent position on the eUnited squad, and he took it. Unfortunately his best result with the team was a 5th-8th placement at the RLCS Season X – Fall: NA Regional Event 3, falling short to SpaceStation Gaming.

eUnited parts ways with WondaMike – Why?

In their announcement video, their general manager, Matthew Potthoff addresses that the reason for this move is because of a very bad period for their Rocket League team. After some time of discussion between the management and coaches, they saw it fit to mutually part ways with WondaMike. They are now contacting several organizations and teams to try and find Michael a new home.

Rocket League can be a tough esport at times, mainly because it not only requires the skill to make it into the big leagues, but you also need the consistency and chemistry within the team. We’re sure that Michael has a future within Rocket League, but unfortunately it won’t be with eUnited.
