This past weekend we saw a couple more games of the CS_Summit 8 event. The tournament is still in its early stages, and here we had Evil Geniuses and Bad news bears getting eliminated from CS_Summit 8 during the Group Stages.

Evil Geniuses in Group A
The EG lineup kicked off the tournament with a match against the Brazilian paiN Gaming. PaiN have made significant improvements to their team, and surprised Evil Geniuses. Nuke went the way of paiN (16-11), Vertigo to EG (16-12) and lastly, Inferno (16-11) once more to paiN Gaming.
This loss put Evil Geniuses against FURIA in the elimination match of the group stage. The first map (Overpass) went the distance, as the final score was 22-20, favouring the Brazilians. Then came Inferno, and it was completely one-sided for FURIA. This loss eliminated EG from the event, and got sent home with a very small share of $2,000 in prize money.
Bad News Bears in Group B
BNB were in a similar situation to EG, as they lost their initial match against Team Liquid 2-1. This sent the North American squad to the elimination match against Extremum. Unfortunately, despite their valiant efforts, the team did not manage to win any of the matches in this series. Therefore placing 4th in the group stage and not qualifying to the playoffs.
