FC Barcelona parting ways with Rocket League roster – Why?
Overall, the team had been performing quite well, and consistently getting decent results, but unfortunately, they were never able to grab a win and secure 1st place. Here are some of their most recent results:
- 5th-8th at RLCS Season X – Fall: EU Major – 24th October 2020 – $4,000
- 3rd-4th at RLCS Season X – Fall: EU Regional Event 3 – 27th September 2020 – $8,000
- 5th-8th at RLCS Season X – Fall: EU Regional Event 2 – 6th September 2020 – $4,000
According to coach El General, the decision was made by the management of the Barcelona brand, and not the esports division.
Here is what he had to say about the situation:
“Many people will be asking the “why”, this was a club decision, not Barça eSport’s, I want to reassure everyone that the esports section did everything they could to keep the team in the organization. As to the future the boys will decide what to do between them, I will be heading back to Latin America and get my hands back in Rocket Street and TOing, doing what brought me into esports in the first place and what I love.”

We will just have to wait and see what the trio decides to do in the long run. Stick with each other and try their best to get signed? Or Split apart to try and climb their way up with a different team?
