Despite Flashpoint’s recent controversies and dramas, the event still progresses. In the latest matches we’ve seen in Flashpoint Season 3, we saw a couple of Round 2 upsets. Here’s all you need to know.
G2 Upset Heroic
Heading into the main event, many predicted that the G2 esports lineup would be a wildcard pick to choose. This is because lately they haven’t shown much success, and parting ways with their main awper KennyS, has certainly placed some doubts in many CS:GO fans. Despite this, the team proved everyone wrong by beating ESL Pro League 13 Champions Heroic. They kicked it all off with a huge victory on Inferno (16-11) and then Heroic replied back with a 16-14 win on Nuke. Then to end it all, G2 Esports clutched up a win on Mirage (16-7) to make it to the next stage!
NiP Upset FPX
As you may have seen, the Ninjas are one of the few teams that have made roster changes recently. Their newest addition, Dev1ce, 4-time major winner did not have the best debut in the beginning of the event, but has now redeemed himself. In their match versus FunPlus Phoenix, the team played on another level, overall the series was quite close, having Mirage concluding with a 16-12 score, and Inferno going into overtime with a 19-17 scoreline favouring the Swedes.
Flashpoint 3 Round 2 Upsets – What’s next?
With these wins, G2 and NiP will take on each other in the 3rd round of the upper bracket, set to take place on the 23rd of May at 21:00CEST. It’s certainly going to be exciting to see which team makes it to the Upper bracket finals, as they’ll be taking on either Astralis or Mousesports.
