Yesterday, HLTV Staff writer Danish “Nohte” Allana took to twitter to address that FACEIT, which are hosting the 3rd season of Flashpoint, were not using the correct ruling when it came to overtime. A few hours later, Flashpoint opted to change their overtime rules amid community backlash. Here’s everything you need to know:
What happened?
As can be seen in the image above, other RMR (Regional Major Ranking) events have been using the proper overtime ruling. This was set by Valve themselves ahead of the major. So it was very weird to see Flashpoint, which is quite a big RMR event, using a different format with regards to its overtime.
At first, Nohte thought that Flashpoint might have been given the go ahead by Valve themselves to have a different format. However, this was not the case. A couple of hours later after his statement against the ruling, Flashpoint changed their rule set with regards to overtime.
Flashpoint Change Overtime Rules amid Community Backlash – What’s next?
Flashpoint has been a complete mess so far, especially with the recent NiP vs Anonymo drama which happened a few days ago. It’s showing that Flashpoint weren’t as professional as they were before and are not attending to situations accordingly. Hopefully in the events to come from FACEIT, these issues cease to exist.
