Yesterday, popular organization Fnatic announced that it is benching Masaros from their Dota 2 team. Here is their announcement:
Masaros’ impact with Fnatic
23-year-old Thai player Natthaphon “Masaros” Ouanphakdee has been under Fnatic since November of last year. With him on the lineup, the team got a 4th placement in the BTS Pro Series Season 4: Southeast Asia, and a victory in the Southeast Asian Dota Pro Circuit Season 1.
Fnatic benching Masaros from Dota 2 – What happened?
The team didn’t show many weaknesses with regards to its dynamic playstyle, however we cannot know what went behind the scenes. Now with their immediate elimination in the ONE Esports Singapore Major, a roster change was inevitable for the team. This announcement does come as a shocking news, as Masaros was key to Fnatic’s success in the 1st Season of Dota Pro Circuit (Southeast Asia)
This is what Masaros said about the benching:
“It was a great opportunity and learning experience to be able to play with TI caliber teammates, I feel very fortunate. There’s a lot of things I learned in my time here. Overall, it was wonderful. Moving forward, I will play with my former Thai teammates. Good luck to Fnatic and us.”
It will be interesting to see where Masaros ends up with. As for Fnatic, we will have to wait for an official statement from them soon on their upcoming pick up.
