FPX (also known as FunPlus Phoenix) have announced that they are adding Emi as CS:GO captain for their team. Here is their announcement:
FPX Adding Emi as CS:GO Captain – Who is he?
27-year-old Luka “emi” Vuković is a professional CS:GO player from Serbia. He has been competing since CS 1.6, back in 2012. His first team on CS:GO was iNation later that same year and then slowly climbed through different teams. Some of the teams he’s played for are: Team Refuse, Valiance, CR4ZY and C0ntact Gaming. In his time with Valiance & CR4ZY, Emi had 2 roles, that of a player, and that of a coach. Now he’s back as a player with FPX, looking to improve their results and hopefully get some tier 1 results.
Here are some of his best achievements:
- 1st in DreamHack Open Rotterdam 2019 – 20th October 2019 – $50,000
- 2nd at DreamHack Open Sevilla 2019 – 15th December 2019 – $20,000
- 3rd/4th in DreamHack Masters Winter 2020: Europe – 5th December 2020 – $12,000
What’s next?
FunPlus Phoenix’s CS:GO team hasn’t been doing well in the past few months. They acquired the Godsent roster back in January, and so far have had 3 different 5th men, Emi being the latest. With ChrisJ, the team had immediate success, winning A tier event Snow Sweet Snow #1 over Gambit Esports. However, this success did not last as they lost against LDLC a few weeks later during Fantasyexpo Cup Spring 2021, finishing in 5th/6th. Hopefully now with a permanent 5th, the team can progress forward and start getting better results in big events.
