Just like esports organizations enter competitive scenes, they can leave too. Indeed, this tends to take place when the organization simply can’t seem to find a foothold for consistent results. Accordingly, it usually takes place shortly after joining. Indeed, FunPlus Phoenix CS:GO seems to be moving on!
FunPlus Phoenix CS:GO – All Players Free Agents
Hailing from China, the organization eagerly jumped into European competitive CS:GO back in January. Accordingly, they made do with the former GODSENT roster as listed below:
- Jesse “zehN” Linjala
- Martin “STYKO” Styk
- Pavle “maden” Boskovic
- Asger “farlig” Jensen
- Luka “emi” Vukovic
However, despite high hopes, the results simply didn’t go the way of the organization. Take a look for youself at some of their performances over the past year:
- 4th @ IEM XVI Winter European Qualifier
- 14th @ Regional Major Rankings 2021: Europe
- 9-12th @ IEM XVI Summer
- 9-12th @ ESL Pro League Season 13
And like that, they failed to qualify for PGL Stockholm which is currently ongoing.
The news is not surprising that the organization announced their departure from competitive CS:GO in the following Twitter post below:
Of course, there’s more than just poor performance going on. We’ll be sure to see where FPX goes with this in the future.
