FunPlus Phoenix have just announced that they will be entering VALORANT. The roster they have picked is a mix of 2 squads of FABRIKEN and PartyParrots. Here is their announcement:
The new FPX roster consists of the following players:
Players:
- Tobias “ShadoW” Flodstrom
- Johan “Meddo” Renbjörk
- Andrey “sho” Kiprsky
- Kirill “ANGE1” Karasiow
- Pontus “Zyppan” Eek
Coach:
- Erik “d00mbr0s” Sandgren
Why has FPX signed these players?
Both FABRIKEN and PartyParrots had good results when it came to European VALORANT, however this signing split both rosters and made it into one. Here are some of their accomplishments:
FABRIKEN:
- 2nd in Wave Esports Invitational Cup – Season 1 – 24th June 2020 – $1,132
- 3rd in Vitality European Open – 12th July 2020 – $1,128
- 1st in Rise of Titans – 1st of July – $1,000
PartyParrots:
- 1st in Wave Esports Invitational Cup – Season 1 – 24th June 2020 – $3,395
- 1st in Epulze Valorant Prodigies – 28th June 2020 – $2,200
- 4th in Vitality European Open – 12th July 2020 – $1,128
Both of these rosters were destined for success and although it’s unfortunate that we won’t see them verse each other in the future, it will certainly be exciting to see a mix of both teams into one.
How is the roster doing so far?
FPX are currently participating in the Allied Esports Odyssey tournament, which is part of the Ignition Series, and so far they have only played Team Liquid in the group stage. FPX lost their 1st match versus Liquid on Haven (13-11) but quickly came back on Bind by winning (14-12).
