North American org Gen.G have announced that they are acquiring a Female VALORANT roster to compete in North American competitions. Here is their announcement:
Gen.G acquiring Female VALORANT roster – Who did they sign?
Some of the current members had played in the VALORANT Game Changers event back in March. These players are: Carlee “carlee” Gress, Hannah “Hannah” Reyes and Tiraye. According to the article on upcomer, Carlee and Hannah had previously competed in Fortnite, also representing Gen.G. Role wise, Tiraye will take the role of the in-game leader, and she will be mainly using the controller agents.
Who else?
Another addition to the squad is Leelee. She’s been a familiar face with the female VALORANT space for quite some time, representing team SinCere, as well as Infinity Val. She will be taking the role as a Duelist on the Gen.G lineup. And for their final member, Gen.G have brought on Stephanieser, rumoured to be the team’s main Sova. According to credible source TheSpike.GG, this is her first ever team in VALORANT.
What’s next?
We’ve already seen a couple of teams and orgs involving themselves with the Female side of VALORANT. Namely: Cloud9, Dignitas, CLG and TSM. There’s a lot of opportunities for women around the world to compete in VALORANT. And it’s only natural that we start seeing more orgs signing on female teams.
