In Week 3, the Golden Guardians managed to pull off an upset versus the fearsome roster of 100 Thieves. Here’s how it all played out:
Golden Guardians pull off upset versus 100 Thieves – How?
The Golden Guardians kicked off their final Week 3 match after 2 consecutive losses versus Team Liquid and Flyquest. 100 Thieves’ bot lane took first blood, but GG fired back almost instantly, as Niles came in with the Flank. After 100 Thieves grab their 2nd kill of the game and a pause is called. A few minutes later, the game resumed and Golden Guardians got a kill up in the top lane.
The game eventually led on to play out till the 56 minute, filled with lots of kills, a game which might be considered as a clown fiesta. Throughout the match, the Golden Guardians kept fighting through 100 Thieves’ base and in due course, GG were victorious.
What’s next?
With this win, the Golden Guardians got another win on the leaderboard, still leaving them in 9th place with 2 wins and 7 losses. Despite being very far from reaching 1st, pulling off an upset like this versus a team like 100 Thieves, which is currently in 2nd, is breathtaking.
This is definitely a victory they needed, and hopefully they can bounce back to a much higher position in the LCS!
