A report has recently surfaced from Dexerto journalist Adam Fitch stating that Co-owner of NRG, H3CZ, is looking to rebuild the OpTic Gaming Brand. Here below is the report:
H3CZ looking to rebuild OpTic Gaming Brand – Why?
According to the report above, Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez is “aiming to divest from NRG” and rebuild OpTic Gaming. Reasons were not disclosed, but we know that H3CZ always treated OpTic as his child, and he’s probably interested in bringing it back into what it used to be.
The Juggle of OpTic ownership
H3CZ first lost ownership of OpTic Gaming to Immortals Gaming Club in June of 2019, and with this move he went to NRG as Co-owner and Co-CEO, alongside Andy Miller. With the help of NRG, H3CZ remained intact with the COD community. As NRG entered the COD scene with the Chicago Huntsmen brand in September of 2019. Overall the team was quite successful, winning a couple of the weekly tournaments, and placing 3rd in both the 2020 season and playoffs. A few months back, October 2020 to be exact, H3CZ re-acquired the OpTic Gaming brand, and rebranded the Chicago Huntsmen into the OpTic Chicago.
With the acquisition of this legendary brand, H3CZ has multiple options for its future. With investors willing to help and aid the future of OpTic only time will tell what will follow. What is certain is that we should be expecting an announcement from Hector very soon.
What does this mean?
This could mean a whole lot, but also could mean very little. Realistically, it all depends on what plans Hector has for its future. Whether it be just as a content creation team, or turn it back into a full-functioning organisation.
