With the conclusion of the World Championship this past weekend, Blizzard released some details for the upcoming season. Accordingly, we have some exciting news regarding the upcoming season – Hearthstone Esports 2022 below!
Hearthstone Esports 2022 – Change is Healthy
Bearing this in mind, there’s a lot to go through. However, we have all the major changes listed below:
- 2022 World Championship – next year, it’ll feature double the amount of players at 16. Specifically, 4 from Grandmasters, 4 from China and eight from Masters Tour
- Masters Tours – a total of six will take place next year, concluding with two Masters Seasonal Championships to spice things up
- Grandmasters – next year will be the final season of Grandmasters, as Blizzard moves to unify the entire competitive base into one in 2023
- The introduction of global in-games events – Lobby Legends
We definitely like all of these decisions. Accordingly, by unifying the community and hosting more exciting events with more players, that’ll help generate the much-needed excitement.
Otherwise, we expect more from Hearthstone in the future, especially hoping that viewership will increase for the esport. Let’s see how 2022 goes down.
