BLAST have just announced that team Heroic will be replacing Evil Geniuses at their BLAST Showdown event. Here is their announcement:
Heroic replace Evil Geniuses at Blast Showdown – Why?
According to Evil Geniuses’ statement, the main reason for this was because of travel restrictions to Europe. Evil Geniuses were intended to play out the entire BLAST Showdown event which would take place between the 24th and 29th of November, but it seems like we won’t be seeing them in a BLAST event until January of next year.

Heroic, being currently the 2nd best team in the world is a perfect replacement to partake in the BLAST Showdown. The team has shown in many events that it is one of the best rosters at the moment and have what it takes to continue dominating in 2020. Heroic are certainly the established favorites heading into the event, as they have been winning most events in recent times.

- 1st at DreamHack Open Fall 2020 – 25th October 2020 – $33,000
- 3rd at ESL Pro League Season 12 – 3rd October 2020 – $34,000
- 1st in the ESL One: Cologne 2020 Online Europe – 30th August 2020 – $150,000
