Over this past weekend, the HoK World Champion Cup took place, concluding a month of competition and the entire season too. It’s been a long time coming – read on as we finally recap the HoK World Champion Cup!
HoK World Champion Cup – Not the Favourites
Heading into this event, nobody really predicted QG Happy to take it all. Qualifying a while back at the Phase 1 Qualifier, they didn’t shine immediately also. Let’s dicuss their long journey.
Kicking things off in Group B, QG Happy was stuck in the more competitive group. Regardless, they managed a respectable 3-2 scoreline in order to move on to the Knockout Stage, However, they had a strong record against some of the top teams.
This showed through in the Knockout Stage. Starting against Mighty Tiger Gaming, a strong 4-1 performance pushed them into the Semifinals. Here, matching up against eStar Pro against whom they had a positive record, they once again earned a 4-1 record.
With the Grand Finals set after a month of competition, Gank Gaming stood in wait. A close first four maps led to QG Happy running away with the final two maps leaving the final scoreline at 4-2.
Overall, it was an incredible event to end the season.
