As we’ve made clear before, Indonesia is a hostpot for competitive Arena of Valor. Indeed, the region has its very own organized Tier 1 circuit, in the form of the Star League. Accordingly, the AOV Star League 2022 Spring is here in the coming days, and we can’t wait to watch. Read on as we provide all of the viewership details below!
Event Background
Indeed, we’ll reiterate in saying that this is the top level of Arena of Valor across Indonesia. Planning to be hosted online and offline across Jakarta, in the Garena Studio, this event looks promising.
Offering $25,000 on the line, there’s way more than that on the line. Anyways, the participating teams are listed below together with how they got here:
- AIW ALTA – Winter 2021
- ArchAngel – Winter 2021
- Dewa United – Winter 2021
- DG Esports – B Series
- Hertz GGNT – B Series
- Nakoo Spaceship – B Series
Running from 23rd February to 27th March, the event looks to celebrate competitive AoV in the region.
We can expect some gruelling competition considering what’s on the line. Apart from the prize, teams are also fighting the a direct seed for the winner to the International Championship 2022 later on in the year.
Otherwise, the top 3 teams will be awarded seeds to Winter 2022 version of the event, while the bottom 3 are demoted back to B Series.
Format
In terms of format, there are two stages of competition to bear in mind. Indeed, they’re listed below.
Starting with the first leg, this Regular Season will run from 23rd February to March 18th. Involving a Double Round Robin, matches will be played in BO3 matches where only the top 4 teams will move on the Playoffs. Basically, each team plays one another twice, top 4 move on.
With that out of the way, the top 4 will compete in the Playoffs. Taking place from March 24th to 27th, a double elimination bracket will sort out the final rankings. All matches will be BO5 except for the Lower Bracket Finals and Grand Finals which promise to be epic BO7 showdowns.

Predictions
In order to predict the outcome of this event, we need to consider how the teams got here. Accordingly, there is the usual argument that the top 3 teams are those which seeded from the previous tournament in the series.
Specifically, back in Winter 2021, the three teams which seeded ranked as follows:
- #1 – ArchAngel
- #2 – Dewa United
- #3 – DG Esports
Bearing this in mind, ArchAngel is in fact the statistical favourite heading into this event. With regards to the three teams qualifying from the B series, we’d like to consider Hertz GGNT as the top team who could possibly challenge the top 3.
