Competitive Arena of Valor/Kings of Glory has been incredibly lively these past few months. Indeed, with the Tier 1 events underway, there are also lower tier gems spicing up the scene. That’s exactly why we’ve set our eyes on the AoV Star League Spring 2021 event. Read on to learn why and how to watch this event!
Event Background
As I’ll reiterate, the AoV Spring League 2021 event is a Tier 2 event for Arena of Valor (the regional version of Kings of Glory). Organized by Garena Indonesia, the event will be held across both Online and Offline platforms as we’ll confirm further on.
What makes this event special? Kicking off right as soon as the regular season finishes – where 6 teams have battled it out after 10 rounds, it will all play out in the weekend of 29th April. Specifically, only the top 4 will progress to this Grand Finals weekend.
What exactly are the teams competing for? While the majority of the Rp 365,000,000 seems rather fetching, there are also valuable seeds to be earned. The top 3 will earn seeds to the Winter 2021 event, while the bottom 3 will be sent to the ASL B series.
Here are the six teams that have a chance to earn the 4 seeds with the end of the regular season on the 29th:
- Dewa United
- DG Esports
- Saudura e-Sports
- ArchAngel
- HerzyONE
- Hertz
Format
In terms of format, the Finals will encompass a very interesting single-elimination King of the Hill bracket. Furthermore, matches will be BO7 showdowns.
The King of the Hill format will involve, for those unaware, a stepwise approach to revealing a victor. First, third and fourth will play one another. The winner of that will play against second – the winner of that goes up against the first seed for the title. Indeed, this is a high-pressure winner-takes-all format where teams only have one shot.

So far, we have no other reason to believe that the stream for the Grand Finals will not take place as the previous rounds. Indeed, everyday of the competition has kicked off at 11:00 (CEST) and then gone on for 6 hours.
It has been made clear that this final day of competition will continue like the previous days – as an epic closing chapter.

Predictions
With such a small competition, the competitors are tightly knit and makes for an incredible viewership experience. Of course, right now, no seed for the Finals is confirmed as teams still have a few rounds of regular season to play out.
Regardless, there are still general notions over who the stronger contenders are. Certainly, after DG Esports placed second at the AoV Star League Season 4 last year, they’re been hungry for their chance to rise to the top. Present at the same event, ArchAngel seems less of a threat right now.
Of course, things aren’t looking too hot for teams such as Hertz and HerzyONE, who will likely be the two teams not making it forward.
Otherwise, this King of the Hill format should make for an incredibly fun event with exciting competition!
